For the shortest stay, the best option is to arrive in town Sunday afternoon, have your consult at 7AM Monday morning with surgery to follow around 9AM on Monday. You could fly home any time after 12 noon on Tuesday following the post-op visit. If I can assist you with scheduling, please let me know.

As other board members have stated before, you can only have a same day consult and surgery on a Monday. Also, according to our policy you must be in Chapel Hill by 9 PM the night before surgery. It would not be possible to fly, have a consult, and have surgery on the same day.

As DMZ mentioned, having your consult on Thursday and surgery on Friday is a good option. If you have any further questions, please feel free to give our office a call at 919-968-4656.

the only way to have consult and surgery all in one day is Monday. Your best bet is to have consult Thursday, surgery Friday, and go home Saturday. That's how I did it so my girlfriend who accompanied me would miss the least work. Also this way if for some reason you need to stay an extra day, you can still come home sunday and your DH not have to miss work more than 2 days(thurs and fri).

I have a 3yr old son and have to make arrangements for him. These are the two options I have, bring him with us (me & dh) which would mean bring my mom-in-law, so she can watch him while I am in surgery or leave my son home with her (which is probably the best option but not my most favorite). Both my dh and mom-in-law work, so this is a major consideration I have to take into account since it involves my mom-in-law directly.

With whatever plan I choose regarding my son, I would like to be able to fly in early Thursday am, consult and do surgery same day, go back to hotel and follow-up post-op exam early Friday am and fly home. Is this a possibility? It really doesn't matter what days all this occurs, I just would prefer to be gone for home the shortest amount of time and must resolve this issue prior to scheduling.

Hi Angie,

Yes, we do scheduling on Thursdays and Fridays, normally you can return to work in about 5 days depending on your job. If you have any questions, please call our office at 919-968-4656.

I had my surgery on a Friday, stayed home Monday and worked 1/2 days the rest of the week...Best of luck to you !!

That's good to know,because I have Thursdays and Fridays off,so we were planning for me to turn in three vacation days in for Saturday thru Monday and my DH turning three in for Thursday and Friday because he's off on weekends.

Dr. B does TR's Mon- FRi. Most ladies go back to work after a week as long as you don't do any heavy lifting (over 15lbs)for 4 weeks.

Hello ladies me and DH have already started our prepay plan and are scheduling for our TR in Jan 2005,just a quick question,,,,,Does Dr.B do any scheduling on Thursdays or Fridays?Am trying to go ahead and plan ahead for TR...Also how soon after TR can you return back to work?I have a somewhat easy job,(I sit on my rear all day taking calls)I work for Dish Network all incoming calls,,lolThanks a Bunch,Angie [Smile]
