Hey SunnyG,
You are right. We do have a lot in common. I was married this past May. We had a wonderful wedding and went to Hawaii on our honeymoon. Life is just wonderful. Who would have ever imagined I would be married and planning another child. I worked soooo hard for sooo many years raising my children alone with no help for their father. I decided many years ago that I would be spending the rest of my life single, but then the love of my life came alone. A friend had tried to fix me up with him for 2 years, but I refused. He is just too young and I wasn't interested. We then met on our own and it was magic from the beginning. He will always be younger, but it just no longer matters. The point is that I am thankful everyday that I have a chance to start my life over and we really hope to add to our family. I wish you all the best with your tr and your wedding. I know you have already heard, but they are really wonderful at ch.
Please keep us in your prayers. We have an appointment with a RE tomorrow.

Hi Ladies!! Can I join in here?? I am 42 and had my TR done 09/21/01 at the age of 38. I have 4cm & 5.5cm. I had my TL done in 1984 at the age of 21!! So, after 17 years, I think those lengths are great!! It take me a while to get pregnant (and with a new partner for the last 2.5 years). I did finally get pregnant the 1st time, but m/c 9/04. I got pregnant again right away, but that too, ended in m/c 11/04. It took me almost another year to get pregnant, but, unfortunately, that ended in another m/c 10/05. I'm not giving up though!! My mother also thinks I am "crazy" wanting to start over again at my age. BUT...everytime I have been pregnant and had the m/c's, she has been supportive and sympathetic. Ohhhhh, I am also a grandma 3 times and a new one due Jan 29th!!

Hello all. Janice here. 42 on 10/30/05. DF is 43 on 11/05. i have 2 children from previous marriage- DS 23, DD 19. They are both excited and concerned. my son had come to me and told me of the risks, like he was searching the internet on the subject. I have been on 50mg of clomid past 2 months. TL was in 86 with my DD, and TR was 4/21/05. had hsg left tube inconclusive, which was 3.5 inches, but right side is 5 inches and open so far.so its every other month for me i guess. DF went for sperm count which was 41 mil, but motility was less than 5. not bad but not good. I been trying to tell him to cut down the caffeine, but he gets headaches from not drinking.. lol, and the fertility specialist for men told him that caffeien and alcohol is not an issue.. i disagree. anyhow, i am hopeful, but sometimes feeling at the end of my ropes, cuz all my tests came back all normal, but i am the one taking meds.. confusing and most of all makes no sense to me.
I figure i still keep going til i give up, and go where my life leads me. A friend of mine says if i leave now and go with a younger fella i will be more successful.. who knows. i am not ready to give up totally or cvhange my life just yet. so on to next month if i get AF on monday or tuesday.
Good luck to everyone and happy new year.

Hello Ladies,
if I may I would like to join in.
Im 40 and will be 41 in March.
Like you said Carol-Im more ready to be a Mom now than I was ever ready with all 4 of my children. I have 3 DD and 1 DS 18-17 and 10 -12
my 10 yr. DD and 12 yr DS were concieved with my DH that I have been married to for 12 yrs. now and when my 10 yr. old DD was born We made the wrong choice in thinking that we did not want any more children, my 2 oldest DD are from my first marriage and God knows my 2 DD were the only thing good that came from that...
All my children are so happy about us trying again - my DS said he wants a brother so that he can let his inner child come back out-( I about fell out on the floor when he told me that )
and acourse the girls all want another little sister.....Zoey Elizabeth for a girl and Matthew Jordan for a boy.....
But my OB told me that 40 is not a bad age to have babies he just delivered a haelthy baby 2 months ago for a 48 yr. old woman. He said as long as everything is working then no problem....
Well now that I have wrote a book here-Im sending baby dust to all and Im so glad to see so many Ladies my age who know how I feel....

Hello girls,

I'll be 43 next month, I had my TR done in July 05, nothing yet. I plan to have a HSG next month. my significant other is 52, he has never had children. He is very anxious to become a father. I feel at times that he is given up,

My children are 19 & 21. My daughter will be getting married in Aug. I told them both that I'm to young to be a grandmother but not to old to be a mom again. They looked at me like if I was crazy.

I'm not giving up....ladies tonight lets all give a toast to us for a good year and that our bundle of joys will arrive to each and everyone of us [baby]

HAPPY NEW YEAR [celebration]

Carol, I have a similar story. I got married at 17 and to everyones shock I WASN'T pregnant. I had my first child at 19 (he's now 22) and my second child at 25 (she's now 17). At 26, I got divorced and became a single mom. Now, I'm 41 and my soon to be DH (please tell me this stands for Dear Hubby)is 43. For years, I worked two jobs and went to college. Single moms miss a lot of milestones! It took me 41 years to know this is the best age to be a parent. I've only told a few friends about wanting another baby and none of my family. Everyone thinks because my youngest is about to go off to college that I should be planning "how to enjoy an empty nest". My SoonToBe-DH has no children, but since the age of 5 he's had their names picked out. FOR ALL 10 OF THEM! If we're blessed with one - we'd be over the moon! I'm planning a wedding and TR for the spring.

Hey Billie Jo,
Good luck to you also. My tr was in Febuary. We have an appointment with a fertility spec. next month. My dh sperm count is very low. He is 32. Most people assume that we have been unable to concieve because of my age, but I think it is just funny that it is because of a low sperm count. I really have enjoyed this topic, because I feel very alone sometimes. All the women around who are trying to concieve are much younger, not that I will let that stop me.
Have you tried fertility meds or anything? Have you had an hsg? I had one in August. My tubes were wide open. Where do you Live?

Carol I'm 41 and going on 42. My TR was a year ago, and we did get pg but we lost the baby.

I don't think we are to old to have babys just look at all the movie stars having babys at an older age. It is just going to take us a little longer.

Sometimes people at work think that I'm crazy too but I don't care what they think. Heck not to long ago a 45 year old was on the PG page and she was pg.

I wish you the best of luck getting pg.

Thanks Becky,
I did read the new pregnancy post from Sharon C. It did give me encouragement. I don't feel so hopeless at 41.
Just wanted to vent a little. I work in a large hospital and most of my coworkers are very supportive, but not all. I live in the South in a small town and most women here have their babies at a very early age. I also had my first child at 17. Yesterday I was eating lunch and a coworker said, 'I heard you were trying to get pregnant. How old are you? You are too old to get pregnant.' I told her that I really didn't ask for or need her oppinion.
I know one thing for sure. I am much more ready to be a mom now at 41 than I was at 17. I actually have a home, career, wonderful dh and money to actually raise a child. When I was 17 I didn't know where our next meal was coming from sometimes, but some people were much more supportive at that time, than they are now. This really makes no sense, but some people are just ignorant and from now on I refuse to let them bother me. Thanks to all of you for the support.

I've been reading your posts--haven't posted as I'm under 40 (close though--38). I was reading the pregnancy announcements (from the new pregnancies link at the top of the page) and noticed an anouncement I thought you all would love to read--from Sharon C. She became pregnant at age 46 and delivered a healthy baby earlier this month--Take a look, maybe it'll give you a little encouragement.

Hi Ladies. I will be 41 on Feb 3 and have 6 children from my first marriage. I had a TR- June 30 2003 and have a beautiful 14 month old TR son. We are trying for our 2nd TR baby now for 9 months. I have been on 50 mg Clomid, Estrogen , Prometrium and did 4 IUIs. So I am feeling kind of lost. I never had trouble before. So on to natural with no meds now. My oldest ranges from 19 to 10 years old. Good luck to all and baby dust!!!!

Hi everyone,
I am 41. My dh is 32. My tr was 2/05 and we were married 5/05. I have 2 children, 23 and 20. My dh has no children of his own. We, like all of you, yearn for a baby, but so far have had no bfp. I had an HSG in August. Both tube open. My spouse had a total sperm count of 38 million, which is very low. We have an appointment with a fertility specialist in January.
I just wanted to say thanks to all of you 40ish women for posting. I really needed to read this today. It is really easy to give up hope. My family and friends have been very supportive, but it is still very hard.
Having the support of the women on this board is just great. I don't post very much, but I read daily.
