Hello, I live in between Abingdon and Bristol and it took almost 4 hours. The only doctor in the area turned me down and i've heard has turned down many others, it's not his specialty. I would drive to Chapel Hill. It's well worth it. I just had my TR on the 11th and i'm so glad we found Dr. Berger. They are GREAT!!!

I suggest you stay the next day (after surgery) too if you can. Of course, you're not that far from there. I flew from Arkansas to Dallas for the connecting flight to CH.

siscorley: We drove up from Georgia. Took 8 to 9 hrs. It was well worth the drive, and the Sheraton is very nice and comfortable. If you have some vacation time, etc.I recommend Chapel Hill. Good luck in your decision and welcome, keep us posted! Donna

Dear siscorley,
Most of our patients are come from out of state as well as out of the country. You would come to our office by 11:00am the day before your surgery for a consult with Dr. Berger, the nurses, and anesthesia. You would then return to the Sheraton Hotel for the night. You would return to our center the next morning for your surgery and then return to the hotel afterwards. A nurse will come visit you the morning after your surgery for your post op check. Once she sees you, you can return home. As Kristy stated, Dr. Berger does perform reversal surgery four times a day five days a week. If you would like to send a copy of your operative report for review please feel free to fax it to me at 919-967-8637. You can also contact me at RhondaB@tubal-revesal.net if you have any questions. I look forward to hearing from you.

Hey Sis [Smile] I live in Duffield and we drove to Chapel Hill in about 5 hours so from Kingsport it would be about 4.5 hours as Kristy stated. There are DR's closer that perform TR's but with a surgery like this you really want the best and trust me,Dr Berger is the best!I went to a fertlity center in Johnson City before I had my TR and was told that we ideal candidates for IVF.We spent $15,000.00 on 2 cycles only to be left with empty arms and a broken heart [Frown] That same DR then offered to do a TR but I had lost all faith in him,the last cycle of IVF he miscalculated my ovulation so I ovulated before he even did the egg aspiration!Anyway......I did extensive research and found Dr Berger. He performs 4 TR's a day!I am a firm believer that the more of what you do the better you are so I went with Dr Berger and thank goodness I did.I had my TR 2/2/05 and welcomed my gorgeous son into the world 7/9/06 [Smile] We are so in love with this lil guy it is unbelievable!
Who is your OB/Gyn?Mine are in Kingsport and were really great about working with Dr Berger's early pregnancy recommendation's.
It is so cool to see other ladies from close by on the board! If you ever want to chat more please let me know. There is another Kingsport lady that is on the board. Her user id is Mom2be and she is so sweet! If we can be of any help please don't hesitate to ask.
Take care sweetie and I really look forward to chatting with you more.
Warm Hugs
Angela

siscorley~ I just did a mapquest direction search and according to that, you're about 4 1/2 hours from Chapel Hill or about 258 miles. My husband and I drove down from Pennsylvania, and it took us about 7 1/2 hours about 440 miles. It wasn't a bad drive at all. I mean on the way home I just had DH stop every hour so I could get out and move around so I wasn't so stiff. I also took my pain meds faithfully. I'm not sure about any local Dr's that perform the TR surgery in your area, but I HIGHLY suggest you go to Dr. Berger, he performs 4 TR surgeries each day 5 days a week, that was enough for me to totally confide in his expertise!! He is truly one ONE OF A KIND!! His staff are totally remarkable, they'll be there for you every step of the way toward your journey!! I wish you all the luck in the world!
