About 20% of women experience mittelschmerz, or pain associated with ovulation. The pain may occur just before, during, or after ovulation. It is a good indicator of ovulation. If you want to double check you can always use an OPK. At the time of ovulation we recommend four consecutive day of intercourse to follow. I hope this answers your question. Good Luck! Fran M., RN

I get the pain just before "O" and right after - usually lasts for 2-3 days. The EWCM is a better indication that you are still fertile. If you BD tonight also you should be covered! Tomorrow may help also since these are your most fertile days! Good luck!

Hey ladies...quick question for you all...I had ovulation pain (mittleschmerz)on Tuesday (11/4) and today I have very eggwhite CM - my question is...did I ovulate on Tuesday, or am I ovulating today? I have not been tracking things because I was just going to let go this month and see what happens, but my body is not letting me get my mind off TTC. DH and I did BD on Tuesday night, will probably again tonight. Does ovulation pain usually indicate ovulation IS occuring or a precurser that ovulation is coming? I googled for answers but can't find an answer. Let me know what you think!! Thanks - Sarah
