I have lost 135lbs in 10 months and now wear a size 6 [Big Grin] I couldn't have done this on my own. I now am ready to start preparing to add on to our family.

Thank you for replying! It's nice to know there are others out here who are in the same boat. It's very promising to know that my gastric bypass surgery will helpfully not prevent the TR.
I lost close to 250lbs [Eek!] with this surgery & gained some back......but with that said, I have plateued right under where my surgeon predicated I would be & have remained at the same weight for about a year. [Wink]

Thank you ladies for your input!

It is nice to know that there are others that have had TR or are preparing for it. Would any of you ladies like to exchange emails and maybe support each other through the process and hopefully pregnancy. I know that we have different needs with food and vitamins.

Michelle,

We have many patients that have had Gastric Bypass before they come to us for the Tubal Reversal. All seem to do pretty well. I am sure you will have a good experience. Let us know if you have any other questions.

Michelle,
We have had many patients come for tubal reversal who have previously had gastric bypass surgery. They have all done quite well, as I am sure you will also. Welcome to the board!

Michelle I had gastric bypass 10 months ago and will be 18 months out when I have my TR. I sent an email asking the nurses here if it would be a problem and I was told everything should be ok. I needed that reassurance that I could have this procedure. Good Luck to you.

Michelle, I had my TR 13 months ago and I had gastric bypass 5 years ago. I had no complications from the bypass and the TR was no problem at all.

Good luck to you!

I havent had bypass, but I had LapBand in august of 2006 and I just had a tubal reversal 9/2008. I didnt have any complications with scar tissue or such. I lost about 102 total from my surgery (lapband) and and at a reasonable weight now, so we decided it was ok to go ahead with the reversal. I think you should be just fine, but you can always call and speak with someone at Chapel Hill, Im sure they can answer you questions. Good luck! [Smile]

Good Evening Everyone,

I am new to the boards! Actually, I found the boards a year ago, but have not posted. My DH & I are in the "saving" process to have this surgery.....hopefully sometime early next year. Anyhow, My question.....

I had my tubed tied 6yrs ago & had Gastric Bypass surgery about 4yrs ago........Does anyone know how this could/would affect the TR? Scar tissue? Excess skin a problem? Any problems, anyone may know of? I have "no" complications. I have lost lots of weight, still considered obese I guess, but "small" enough to have the TR. Just wondering, if this could have a negative affect for me or if anyone else how there has a similar situation.

Thank you,

Michelle Mom of 3 [Kiss]
