Anne367, If you don't mind my asking... What was your BMI at surgery time??? Just wanting to see because that is usually why the scar would be bigger or smaller... Celisa

My incision was only about 3-4 inches and that was thru one of my old c section scars which is at least an inch longer on each side of the tr incision!

Gina you are welcome and i also agree that if you can do it you should use chapel hill they are the best. my incision is larger than the quarter size picture you've seen it is not hip to hip but it is close. i don't know why mine is so much larger but i haven't had any problems either so again if you can Chapel hill is the place. Gina, I think that you should invest in the money to come to Chapel Hill, because being cut from hip to hip seems very invasive and unneccessary.
I had my TR done less than a week ago and I have been at work the last 2 days and doing some laundry and I manage a very busy restaurant that involves standing and moving. I am in some pain, but I just move slower than usual. Other than that I am ok.
People come from all around the world to come to Chapel Hill and from the information you are being given, it seems to be well worth it to come here and get it done and know that its being done right the first time by a specialist.
You definitely want to go somewhere where all that the Doctors perform are TR's.
I am pretty sure that your recovery time will not be anywhere near 8 weeks.
I hope that helps hun, and wish you the very best.

hi and thanks Shawna. The consultant also said i would be cut from hip to hip for the reversal. This seems very extreme after looking at the pictures on this site of the scars some women have. Maybe I should go and see someone else!

Gina recovery depends on the person but there are specific guidelines for lefting pushing or pulling anything over 15pounds. if i had wanted to i could have went back to work the day after tr. like i said it really depends on how well you personally feel and heal. hope that helps Shawna

Hi, I've been to see a consultant with regard to my tubal reversal and he said the recovery time is 8 weeks and i won't be able to work during that time. My job doesn't involve any lifting or much walking around. Is this time too long? What is the usual recovery time and how long has it taken people to recover and return to work? I'm in the UK unfortunately, or I would have my reversal done at chapel hill. Thank you for your help Gina
