For me, it got worse before it got better! Everyone is different. I have had three c-sections so I thought it was going to be a breeze, but I ended up hurting more than I thought. Mine was worse after about the third day. I think I did too much. So take it easy!

I healed fast as far as the cut and all. I had pain for some months to come but just made me watch what I did with a close eye. For me mine was different because Dr.B had to fix a musical while he was in there. I am glad to read that your PTLS has gotten better. I wish you all the best. Miranda

Normal is different for everyone. I had paid for a few days but its because I didn't have a BM for about 4 days. (TMI sorry) have you had a BM? Also we all heal at different rates. You know your body and if you feel that you can't handle the pain you may want to talk to one of the nurses. Remember you just had major surgery. Give your body some time.

Hi everyone. I had my TR on Sept. 9th 2009. I already feel relief from a lot of the PTLS symptoms.Thank GOD. I was wondering if it normal to still feel a lot of pain? I still need to take Advil every 4 hrs. If there is any pressure on my incision (like having to urinate) it's very painful. Is this normal?????

It is not uncommon to be uncomfortable for a few days after surgery. If the ibuprofen is not controlling the discomfort and you are out of the Roxicet please call the nurse on call at 919-656-9861 and ask her to contact Dr. Berger and he'll call in something else for you. Please make sure you have the name of the drugstore and telephone number available when you call. Also, let her know on a scale from 1-10 what your pain level is. Your bowels should return to normal as the anesthesia wears off and you taper off the pain medicine. You can also try increasing your fluid intake, try to get some roughage in your diet and try to walk around a little bit. I hope you feel better soon. Martha

I have had a problem that if I am up on my feet too much I start to get really achy. I'm just taking the ibuprofen now and stopped taking the Roxicet because I had not had a bm either and was starting to get uncomfortable. (I had my surgery on Tuesday.) I didn't take any Roxicet yesterday and today and was able to have a bm today finally (sorry TMI). The Roxicet makes everything slow down and sluggish. I know every time I have been on pain killers I have had problems like this, but with in a day or two of going off of them I get right back to normal.

What meds did they give you and did you start taking them after you started to feel pain or prior? I started my meds once I made it back to the hotel. Are you passing gas (sorry for the graphic question)?
