I'm so sorry you are going through this and I know waiting is hard. No matter what the results are I honestly believe you should get a second opinion before ever having a hysterectomy at 27...Please keep me posted on your results. I will be hoping for a positive outcome for you. I think the most I can recommened at this point is to move through this one day at a time. Try not to make yourself crazy...I know it is probably hard to do.

I went to my doctor's appointment. It had been rescheduled from Wednesday to today. My doctor did a biopsy and said results will be in sometime next week. She knows I want to have more children and told me to hurry up and do so because depending on my results she may need to do a hysterectomy so I don't end up will cervical cancer. She told me she would give me some time. She is freaking me out because I don't want a hysterectomy.I am just having a hard time coming up with the money I need to get my tubes untied.I am frustrated with my doctor for even making me think about a hysterectomy.I don't know where to go from here.I know at 27 I am to young to have this weighing on my shoulders.

I hope you have a smooth recovery. That is my son's birthday (he is turning 4 that day) so I hope that day brings you the luck it brought me! It took about 4 months for me to get rid of EVERY PTLS symptom, but they disappeared gradually over that time so I was continuously healing. Please keep us posted on your progress!

Ther are like 30+ different symptoms attributed to PTLS..some of which could be from other things..shich is what is so misleading.. Many of us here have had different groups of symptoms, some worse than others..Some of the ones we see in almost all of the women who suffer from it are: inability to lose weight/weight gain, freaky, heavier periods, some type of headaches, libido loss, dry skin, moodiness elevated beyond the norm for "PMS"..just to name a few..there are so many more symptoms..that is why it is so hard to nail it down. I though I had GI problem, then I saw a neurologist for the memory loss, fogginess and tingling in extremities..I also saw my ob/gyn for my gyn symmptoms and my GP for an overall physical and blood work. Nothing clicked until I found PTLS on the web...and that led me to my light bulb moment ..connecting all the dots of my symptoms to one thing. A few months later I was at CH having my TR (6/2/08). By October everything was gone but that extra 15 pounds of my hips and butt!..Still working on that..I will be paying the money back that we borrowed from our savings forever..but it was worth every penny...having my health and my life back..

I never experienced the pain during ovulation to such a great extent until AFTER my tubal ligation. And more painful periods. I still have issues and it's been over 8 years.

Weight gain could have been a factor for me, but I have blamed that on aging.

Dx means diagnosis (sorry.. "lab speak"). I was wondering what your MD told you about your cone biopsy diagnosis. Do you know what it was? I am not a doctor but my medical instincts tell me you might be dealing with 2 separate issues, but who knows for sure...Perhaps Dr. B or M could chime in here or you could e-mail one of them about to ask if they have heard from patients that they had positive paps from TL??? I know they keep a lot of stats and detailed info on patients. I just want you to make sure you are monitored closely until you get a proper diagnosis and treatment if needed. Hysterectomy is drastic and I would never do that without a serious medical reason and 3 opinions. As far as the weight thing goes..I also have the same extra 15 pounds from TL..the TR apparently did not squelch my m&m habit! Well, please keep us posted on your visit and I will be thinking about you..

That is how I really new something was up, Before my TL I was 130 and never had a problem getting back down to that as long as I watched what I eat and so on, But after my TL I wieghed 172 and it took me over a year to get down to 160 then it took me another year to get down to 155 and that is where I have been for the past year I am 5'4 and 25. I am hopeing that after my TR I will be able to lose wieght easier.

Hello czy4em
I am 25 years old and had my TL done in 2006 ever since then I have suffered from PTLS, I am not they same person since then it has affected nealy every part of my life from my periods to my moods. I am having my TR done on the 18th of this month and I hope to be back to noraml. I have also had problems since with my wieght. I know your wieght changes with age but I have a major time trying to lose wieght before my TL I never had a problem.

I had a horrific 3 years tortured by 20+ PTLS symptoms (you can see the gory story in the PTLS blogs from June on my story so I do not repeat it all here!).. and after 4 months post TR I was symptom free. I am not an MD but I have not heard of nor did I experience abnormal pap stemming from TL. I too had an abnormal pap back in like 1990 (prior to child-bearing, TL and TR) and I had cryotherapy on my cervix and never had another abnormal one since then. Make sure you keep getting monitored. I had paps twice a year for many years and eventually got back to the annual one down the road. I would get a second and even a third opinion before I ever got a hysterectomy at your age. That seems extreme to me (without some major dx to back it up). I do not think a TR will resolve this particular issue so you need to keep on top of it. There are numerous things that can cause abnormal pap results that are not cancer (the most minor being inflammation). It could also be HPV. It depends on which cells are atypical and to what degree. Did you get an actual Dx from your cone biopsy? Can you share that? (if you choose not to for privacy reasons I understand) I used to work in a lab where I managed anatomic pathology (paps, biopsies, etc) so I have a lot of knowledge from my 10 years doing that. I hope this all works out for you. Please know you will have the support of some great ladies here. You can get relief from many of your symptoms through TR if that is the way you choose to go. Please keep us posted on your pap situation. Best of luck.

I had that problem too. My periods got heavier and my back pain was unbearable the first two days each month. My doctor said that since I had TL I should try the Cryoablation. (only if you do not want anymore kids) That is when they go in and freeze your uterine lining and it suppose to minimize, if not stop your period. I did move forward with it and I still get my period for 2 days a month very light with no real bad cramps. But now I want a TR and the problem is that with that surgery I had makes its a risk for pregnancy because the lining was suppose to be destroyed and you are at a high risk for a miscarriage.

I hope this is helpful.

Luckily for me I have been looking into TR and had an ultrasound and hysteroscopy and my uterine lining is normal and I am able to move forward with my TR on 3/31. I just pray that we will be able to concieve without any complications. [Love]

Please get another opinion. I too have had so many problems since my TL.I have been tired, memory problems, extremely heavy cycles (tampon and pad), the cramps when ovulating, and a stabbing pain when I am about to have my cycle, and the list goes on. I am 26 years old, and I have been complaining to my doctor ever since my TL 5/05. She has done u/s and blood work, and it all comes back with nothing wrong. It's unbelievable! I know this is not in my head. I feel like if I keep complaining, she will want to take my uterus to shut me up. lol I feel so blessed to have found Dr. Berger and the staff at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center. Everyone is very compassionate and supportive (even when your family may not be) I am scheduled to have my tubes reversed on 3/31/2009 because PTLS and for the chance to conceive again. I have four beautiful children. My husband and I would love to have more. To some that sounds crazy, but to us their our lives and world. Children are a blessing. Good Luck to you and I hope you find all the answers your looking for.
