thanks for the encouragement! I was just worried that having a salpingostomy wouldn't help with PTLS, but obviously it is possible. So, I'll just wait patiently to get back to my normal self!
BearsGirl...have you scheduled a TR yet? I feel for you...PTLS is a terrible thing to go through. The good thing is, though, there is the option of reversal.

Hi, I had my TR in Feb and also had a salpingostomy. I didnt have any noticiable change until my second cycle and it was much better. Mood was better periods are shorter and cramps have been much better. So there is hope!! Just give yourself some time to heal and it will get better. HTH

It took 8 weeks or so for me to get rid of my symptoms and I had like 22 of them. The first to go were more of the emotional, tension type of symptoms...The heavy flooding type of bleeding was last..It lessened over 2-3 months..Now I still have a heavy day 2 but not as bad as it was. Everyone heals at their own pace and we all have dfferent symptoms at various levels of extremity..I kind of stopped thinking about it for awhile and then noticed I lost a bunch more symptoms..It is hard but try to be patient and try not to stress about it.

Hi peanutbritto, I had my surgery 3/31/09 and had only one repairable tube. On my Left side Dr. B did the salpingostomy and I have 5cm. I was a wreck for several weeks after surgery. But I did have relief from PTLS. My husband says I am a whole lots happier and he has his wife back. No Luck TTC just yet but I know if it was ment to be then God will make it happen in his own time. My last two cycles have been differant than from before TR. First thing I noticed was that my boobs got really sore, but also the lenght of my cycle went from 7-8 days to 4-5days. Also, The extremely heavy bleeding was gone. Now I did have one day that was heavy, but not like before where I would have to where a pad and tampon and not leave the house (Sorry) But please know that you are not the only one. We have a better chance than before TR, and thats what I will hold on to. Hope you find piece and confort. Courtney

I had TR on 5/12/09 and so far nothing has returned to normal. I'm optimistic that it will in time. Give it a chance before you get to upset. I'm sure it will work for you. Good luck! Paula

I had to have a salpingostomy (where he opened up the end of my tube) because I didn't have two ends to reattach. I just had my surgery 4 days ago, but I'm getting really nervous that this form of TR is not going to help with PTLS. I am desperate for this surgery to work...as all of u who have suffered from PTLS understand, I'm sure. I'm afraid I am going to be in the small percent of those who don't get relief, though. I had the TR on the 14th day of my cycle (when I would normally start having PTLS symptoms) and sure enough I have been having symptoms for the past 2 days. I know I shouldn't expect immediate relief, but it has me a little pessimistic. Just looking for a little encouragment... ~Brittany
