I had my TR on May 20. I had a difficult recovery due to a lot of pain (AF showed up the day of surgery and I had one tube implanted, cramps, etc.) I noticed a change from the mental fatigue and over all mood and nerves within a few days. I noticed a change in the fatigue in the past two weeks. I notice that I still have a couple days when I am a little more tired, but it is now due to the fact if I sleep well or not the night before. At least there is a reason for being tired now. [Smile] It is getting better each day. I try not to over due it if I am tired that day, I just listen to my body. If I am tired one day and I take it easy then I feel so much better the next day that I hardly stop. [Smile] It is so nice to be able to function and enjoy life now, not just survive it sometimes by the hour, feeling like I am trapped in a strangers body. I am finally free to be me!!! God Bless!!!

I was also diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I later found out that it was not the case. [Smile] I had the most trouble the past 18 months with the fatigue, but am so much better now. Praise God for CHTRC!

weare6!!! You give me so much to look forward to! I am or was a naturally high energy person, too! That completely disappeared shortly after the TL and I became this person I did not recognize inside or out! Thanks for sooooo much hope! I am excited to feel more like me! Emily

Emily- I had chronic fatigue that started 18 months after TL. My first "crash" I spent 6 weeks on the couch doing NOTHING (and I do not sit well at all... very active!) and had to take a natural adrenal booster to get going again. It was aweful. From that point on I was on a pattern of a crash every 4-6 months and in between felt pretty lousy. I actually could feel another crash coming on before TR but didn't want to tell anyone because I thought maybe I wouldn't be able to go through with the surgery. 4 weeks post TR I remembered how I had been feeling and realized I was feeling great! I had TR last August and in November I spent 80 hours one week painting the entire interior of our apartment! I never would have dreamed I could do that before. I am happy to say that 10 months post TR now, I have 95% of my energy back (the other 5% is because I'm not 25 anymore!. Blessings to you with your TR and recovery!

Thanks Heather for the encouragement. My PCP diagnosed me with Chronic Fatigue and I almost bought into it until I came across these boards and CH! I knew that this was not like me and that I had never felt this "aged" or drained even when I was a few days prior to AF before TL. I get so frustrated with myself and feel so guilty for doing this to my body and my family! You ladies on here keep me going and I appreciate you all ! 2 weeks and counting and I cannot wait to feel like you say you do after my TR! Thanks again Heather...and everyone else! I hope that we all achieve the dramatic results that are possible with TR!

Emily let me put it this way. I had my TR a month ago and I feel better than I have in 3 years. I am not walking around in a fog. I cleaned most of my house today including changing the beds and I feel mentally able to take on the world. [Smile] You are going to get better and feel like a new person. [Smile] The fog was gone in just a few days. I had to be careful to not over do it during my recovery, because I felt like I had enough energy to clean, etc., but my body was still sore. PTLS is devistating and destructive, not only to those of us who suffer from it, but to our family as well. My fatigue got so bad a month before surgery that I actually collapsed a few times. Take Care and God Bless!!!!

Ladies! Please tell me that the feeling of chronic fatigue goes away after the TR! I have like one or two days right now in my cycle that I feel like I have ambition or energy to do things, interact with others, or a stable mood. Can anyone else identify and does it get better post TR? This PTLS is a real thing and very destructive inside and out. Thanks for the replies! I have 2 weeks to go until my TR and wish it was yesterday!
Best wishes to everyone! Emily
