I am thinking about getting another part time job so that I can get the money saved up a little faster to have my TR done. DH work is slow right now so he isn't making great money, but I want to get the money together soon.

Once we dicided we were going to do this and had the money. I had to schedule 2 months out or so because I had to wait until my kids were out of school to go. But I was able to pick the date which suited us best, so I was thankful for that!

I scheduled my surgery for around 4 weeks out and was scheduled for June 3. I called a few days after I scheduled to ask a question and just asked if they had any cancellations. I had surgery about 2 weeks later. [Smile] I was so excited, but had to shift everything into highest gear at that point. LOL

It took us more than 3 years to save up and was 7 weeks from the time I scheduled until surgery day.

Dear ladies:

Typically, appointments fill up around 4 weeks ahead of time. During the spring and parts of the summer, the schedule can fill up 6 - 8 weeks out. It is a rare situation - and usually due to a cancellation - when we can get someone on the schedule within a few weeks. Since there are blood tests and travel arrangements to be made, it is good to have 4 weeks to prepare. Since our patients travel to North Carolina from all over the world, we are used to assiting with a variety of scheduling and traveling questions.

While you are waiting, please take a look at our steps to scheduling page for more information.

Please let us know how we can assist you!

Usually you can get a surgery date within a few weeks. It depends on the schedule. You are welcome to give us a call when you get close and we will be more than happy to let you know how far out we are scheduling at that time.

Good luck. and see you soon.

Lauren it took us a little over 3 years to get all the money for the TR. I like the saying if it is something wroth having you have to work for it. Makes you love what you were able to have more. I wish you all the best. Miranda

mrsspchelms,
As long as we have all your pre-operative lab work and it's within normal limits it should not take too long to get an appt.. The further out we go, the busier our schedule gets. Call one of the nurses and we'll be happy to look at the calender with you.

Did it take you a long time to save up the money for it? I wish I could get some sort of loan or something. I really want to get a TR but don't have the money. It cost a lot. I wish insurance would pay for it!

How quick can you get surgery when the amount is paid in full? How long is the wait?
