Yes, I asked for the full amount and they only approved me for 2000. When the rep called though, she said that I was actually only approved for a bit over 1700 and the rest was a charge of some sort? Like a fee/cost for the loan. So I was really only going to get 1700. I just told them to close our application out, as the fees/interest are a bit high for that amount of money. I actually just got a 0% interest credit card that I can use for a portion of it if it comes down to that. She didn't say why they didn't approve us for the full amount....but I'm sure if I'd asked they would have given me a reason. Good luck!

Hi HSMomInGA. I was wondering, did you apply for the whole amount and were approve only for $1700 or is that the amount you needed? Also if they only approved you a partial amount, did they say why not the whole amount? They said my husband was approved for a partial amount but don't know the details until Monday. I am very eager and anxious to find out if we can do this soon.

We submitted an online application and we were approved for 1700, plus a fee so the total ended up being 2000. We didn't take advantage of it, since it was so high in fees and interest (22% if I'm remembering correctly). We have decent credit, not 850's of course...LOL but still I didn't think we needed the loan that badly, we'll just have a bit more time to save up or we can use our credit card in a month as well.
I think that the economy has hurt finance companies as well, we were approved for a small amount for our next IVF cycle through Capital One, not enough for the cycle...but our doctor (RE) lowered their price by half to accomodate a lot of patients. We're still thinking we're going to go with TR though....just seems like the better choice for us and still the most financially sound.
For patients interested in long-term payment arrangements, we offer a pre-payment plan or financing through MedChoice Financial. Financing through MedChoice can be arranged by calling 800-358-8980 (choose Option 1) and using Identify Provider Id # 3867 or Dr. Gary Berger. You should receive an answer within minutes. You can also fill out an online application on the company website. Please make sure to use the loan option and not the credit card option! Connie or Al can assist you with arrangements.
