Thank you ladies. I am waiting to see what the temps do this weekend before I test. My cover line is 97.82 this month and I am slowly climbing int he 98.3s. The last three days it has climbed from 98.31 to 98.33 to 98.36. I hope it keeps going up. [Smile] My temp dipped just a little (97.98) on day 5DPO and then started up from there. Usually it slowly starts to go down from day 5 and then it gradually drops to below my cover line on the day that AF is due. Thanks for the advise on the ICs. I will keep you posted.

Colleen, it could very well be an implantation dip, but its very hard to tell. I have been temping for over a year and have a dip at 4 or 5 dpo every month. And I have even had triphasic charts, but all cycles have led to a BFN. [Frown] You will find though, both Heather and Colleen, that you will see a regular pattern in your cycles after a few months. That is the good thing about temping, so you will know what to expect and what is normal for you individually. Rule of thumb is that if temps are still high and haven't begun to drop when AF is due, then there is a good chance you have a little bean! Good luck to both of you!

Heather,

I found the internet cheapies to be pretty accurate. I actually found that the IC were more accurate then the First Response Early Response. I seem to be one of the rare women that the FRER doesn't work so well for. I had really good luck with the EPT brand.

My thought is if you're going to test early - before AF is due then I would wait at least until 11DPO, use a IC and try not to be disappointed if it comes up a BFN. Chances are it will be too early to know for sure. Also, like caroljean mentioned, make sure you use FMU especially if you test before AF is due.

Colleen - you might post your question to caroljean in a separate thread. She may not think to check back here and won't see your question. Also, we don't want to get sidetracked from Heather's question [Wink]

carol how about if your temp takes a dip on 5DPO below the coverline but the next day it came back above the coverline (coverline=97.83 and 6DPO was 98.04) but then 6 & 7 DPO were the same exact temp? does it mean anything at all? does this sound promising to you?

Your temps should stay up for at least a week past ovulation, this is due to the higher level of progesterone hormone. The hormone begins to slowly drop just a few days before AF arrives then usually plummet the day before the the day of AF. Many times you will have a dip around 5-9 dpo then they go back up, especially if pregnant, but sometimes even if not. The HPTs you probably received are what we call ICs (internet cheapies). They are usually pretty equal to a dollar store test and are fairly sensitive. But in order to pick up a level of hcg, you would need to be a couple of days past implantation - which doesn't always show up in temps. And implantation can be up to 10 dpo, which is why most women are encouraged to wait until 12 dpo or later....but as WE ALL KNOW... very few have that kind of patience [Smile] . If you are going to try one of the ICs you received, be sure to do it with FMU so your level would be at the highest. Usually after AF is due it is higher and you can test any time of the day. Good luck and I hope you get your sticky bean!

This month I have been using the test strips for Opks and I also got HPTs in the pack. Here is my question: How accurate are the HPT in those? Is it better for me to use one from the store? My temps have been up for 9 days and so if they are still up this weekend I am going to test. AF is due Tuesday. I am so scared. I had a m/c before each of my boys, so I am on a major roller coaster even after I get the BFP. My temps always start on their way down by 5DPO. We will see. I am trying not to get my hopes up. DH asks every morning if my temp is still up? And then says, maybe we caught it this month. [Smile] I am trying not to hope, so I won't be disappointed, but I will probably be anyway. God is good and has helped me through this far and will not stop now. Thank for all of your support and encouragement not only to me but to all the other ladies on this board. It helps so much when someone is having a bad day and there are other women who have been there and can come along side them and encourage them. Keep up the great work!!! God Bless!
Heather
