Opening the prepayment account, like Laura said, is a great way to treat that money saved like putting it in a piggy bank. It won't be spent for anything else that way, except for your TR. Wishing you luck with this goal. Kathy
Opening a prepayment account is a great way to get started. You will need $250 to open it and make payments into it on a monthly basis. Your monthly payments can be as little as $10. Some people ask their family members to make a payment into the account for birthdays and Christmas instead of a wrapped present.

I decided to do a surrogacy inorder to have the money- I had done it once for a friend, but thought I would do it agin this time using some of the money fro the surgery- it is a good way to do it cuz pregnancy maskes the symptoms of the PTLS that I suffer from and I am doing such a wonderful thing for a wonderful family!

Hi Iluvrsp, Take advantage of the drive time to gather your thoughts and think of any questions that you may have. This is also a good time to read over the instructions that we sent you.

Hey ladies my name is Jennifer and I had my TR 8-4-08 with Dr. Monteith actually today is my 1 year anniversary... Anyways though I wanted to share something with you all that someone said they were doing or had done to save up for their TR. A lady said she had started the prepayment account and when she would go to the store to get groceries or something if she put something in her buggy that she wanted but didnt need she would then take it out of her buggy write the price down that she would of spent and sent that money into CH on her account. I thought that was the neatest thing I would of never had thought of that so I just wanted to share that with you. GL on your saving and your big day will be here before you know it.

I too am excited about going to NC. Hubby on the other hand isn't 100% crazy about it. I mean he is happy about me having the surgery but isn't totally thrilled about having to save that kind of money! Which I am sure that my hubby isn't the only one that thinks that!

Well...to make you feel a little better. I am from Kansas, which is about a 20 hour drive. It costs about $6,000 to have the surgery there. I live an hour away to a Dr. that would do it for $13,000. We are going there cuz its cheaper and we will be able to take vacation. We estimated that with us going there and back shouldn't cost us $13,000. That is sad I think. Plus, the Dr. in KS doesn't have all the things to do or the hotel. lol. I am very excited about going to NC

I too am in the same boat as you are. I have 3 boys and a girl. Hubby has one son that is going to be 16 next year, him and I have no children together and have been together for 4 years. Hubby says that is a lot of money to have to save but he is finally willing and ready to start saving for the surgery to be done.

I understand you! We are saving money as well. We are planning a May 2010 surgery. Its hard to save when you have other bills to pay and other kids to support. I have 2 kids with my ex-husband. My husband now does not have any kids so we would like a couple together. I wish you the best of luck saving!!

It seems like forever when you count the weeks that you are going to save money for TR. I am hoping to have money saved by August 2010. How long has it taken some of you to save the money for TR?
