Please talk to Dr berger. I also went to jax. They are very quick to do ivf. I had 2 rounds. Very $ and emotional. I am on my way home after tr. Dr Berger & staff are wonderful. If you would like to email me I am at suekretz@yahoo.com
7 Years ago I had the exact same thing happen. I had a Lap done by my RE and afterwards said they could not repair the tubes. I had no tube going into the Uterus. I went through 4 IVF's afterwards - I responded well to the process, but it never took. Unable to let go of wanting more children - I found this site. I sent Dr. Berger my lap results and although he agreed that they weren't very positive I asked if he would give it a try. Dr. Berger was honest that the outcome most likely would not be successful, but I thought with such a low risk procedure I wanted to do all I could. Well, I had a wonderful surprise when I woke up from surgery! Both tubes were able to be repaired - and they were perfectly healthy! They are kind of short (2.5 cm & 3.5cm) but, they are now repaired! I had an HSG done last month - 1 tube completely open - the other unconclusive (but I know it's open!) My TR surgery was November 2005 - no BPFs yet, but I still have hope - in any case, I'm blessed to have been able to reverse the wrong I did so long ago!
I hope this gives you hope - Dr. Berger only does Tubal Reversals - that's it - that's why he is the best!
I would hold out with hope until Dr. Berger has viewed your films. I can also tell you from my own experience that post op reports are not always accurate. If mine had been accurate I would have had 7-8cm tubes after the TR however, I have 3 and 4cm tubes because not everything done was on my post op. I had extensive cauterization to several places on each tube on top of the polmory procedure. The polmory procedure was the only thing on my post op reports, and Dr. Berger was still able to do the reversal and I have tubes long enough to successful conceive if it's meant to be.
On a happier note, I had an HSG (x-ray of tubes) last June and the radiologist said my short side was blocked and my long side was spilling beautifully. The radiologist had a hard time doing the HSG because of my tilted cervix and I was cramping bad before the procedure even began. Therefore I sent my films to Dr. B to confirm the radiologist report, as I knew it was a very good possibility that the right size was just spasming and not blocked. He immediately let me know that both of my tubes were open and spilling.
Good Luck! I hope Dr. B will be calling you with good news soon. Michele

Linda - I'm sorry your reversal didn't go as planned. Your taking a step in the right direction getting input from Dr.Berger. He's a great surgeon, and I'm sure he'll give you solid advice that you can count on.
Try and think positive until Dr.Berger takes a look-see at your films. Many of us felt broken-hearted thinking there was no fix for our original tubal ligations, and he's proven that's not true. I'm hopeful he'll give you some good news as well.

HI I have been lurking here for a while I am Linda 38 from NE florida I had a local repro surgeon who was to attempt a reversal because my insurance covered it to be done here and I went in for a lap and when I woke up the nurses told me that the doctor could not do the reversal for who knows what reason too damaged or adhesions or I don't know what she wasn't sure~he did go out to the waiting room and explain a lot of mumbo jumbo to my husband and gave us 2 sheets of pictures but I cannot tell my ovary from my earlobe I know I had a cautery and those are hard to reverse but the doc here who did my lap is a big ivf doc and I can't help but wonder if he just did not even want to try because he is quick to suggest ivf~I am going to try to send my lap photos and my tl report to Dr. Berger because my op report from my tl says he only cauterized 2 cms in the center of the tube but according to the doc here in Jacksonville it could not be reversed! I am heartbroken and just in need of some feedback sorry for rambling on!!
