Brenda - He is a gifted and caring man. I, like you, hope that a Youtube video is forthcoming about the relief he gives women from PTLS...How wonderful it would be to reach all of those potential sufferers out there and bring them to the site to learn more and to realize they are not alone and can potentially be cured of their misery. I hope you are doing well..

I just watched all the videos on YouTube and they are wonderful. I enjoyed being able to see the inside of the center and see what the people look like. I hope there will be some put on there about PTLS, because people really need to be educated about it.
When I watched the ones with Dr. B talking, my eyes welled up with tears just thinking about some day when I will get to meet him in person. That will be a great day!

I think it is great that these videos are out there for others to see. I sincerely hope that Dr. Berger and Dr. Monteith will do one about how patients come to Chapel Hill for relief from Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome (PTLS). I understand that, most of the time, the reason for the reversals are to have babies. However, he is one of the few doctors who truly understands and has experienced the reality of PTLS and the damage it does to women, their bodies and their families. Many of us are trying to get the word out there so we can affect change and perhaps have informed consent for the procedure with a mandatory disclosure of possible side effects as well as letting women know that the symptoms they have could be related to their tubal ligations and are "fixable". This is an uphill battle many of us have been fighting for years. There are so many women out there who could get that "eureka" moment and potentially be cured of their misery if the word was out there, especially if the word was out there by a highly educated, respected doctor/surgeon like Dr. Berger. His credibility will go a lot further than most. This is such an important message that desperately needs to get out there and be HEARD. He spoke in one video of "hope". This does not just apply to women who want more children but to those of us for whom the reversal was our only hope to become whole again. He is literally giving women their lives back and that is something that is amazing and wonderful. I know this is very a controversial issue. However, to affect change you have to get the message out to more of the masses, get people's attention, get them talking, get them thinking and then, hopefully, get them understanding and finally believing. Many of us have contacted media personalities like Oprah, etc. to try to get the information out there on PTLS. Until we have a stronger unified voice and one backed by medical data and support, there will continue to be unnecessary suffering and lives/families damaged by the misery that is PTLS. Dr. Berger and his staff are wonderful, caring people who are making a difference in women's lives each and every day. What would take this caring to the next level is to be willing to put this information out there so women, their family members and medical professionals might then actually understand PTLS, and see the reality of the condition and know there is hope to restore health and lives because of the dedication and caring of doctors like him and Dr. Monteith.
