Author Topic: Weight & BMI Brenna RN Member # 12821 posted                    Body mass index (BMI) is a calculation based on height and weight that correlates with the amount of body fat. For patient safety, Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center requires a BMI less than 35 prior to surgery. A BMI of 24.5 is normal. Feel free to call or email us if you have additional questions. I currently weigh 143 and my BMI is 24.5. After reading the boards wasn't sure if I am within the acceptable weight and BMI range for surgery. I am planning on trying to lose some weight in the next 3 weeks by eating smaller, and healthier portions.
