Funny scale story--I told my friends at church that I needed to "lost 17 pounds by tomorrow" the other day--so, DH and I were at Goodwill and there was a scale there, I weighed myself, and I weighed 17 pounds less (because it was broken), I told God, "Ha ha, very funny!"

Yeah I probably did have some weight gain with the Norplant. I just didn't pay much attention. Other than that, I think I had mine in for the whole 5 years. My Dr. did a good job putting them in and they were easy enough to take out. The Dr. my sister went to put them in too deep and when she went to have them removed they told her they couldn't do it without risking nerve damage, they were that bad. So she still has the tubes in her arm.
I looked at that scale and a weight watcher's that was similar but I decided I didn't want to spend that much money on one and I figured I really didn't need all those extra features. So I opted for the least expensive digital they had. The absolute cheapest one they had was identical to the one I wanted to throw out which was ok but I was always looking at it going, is that ??? or ???.
I like the one I got, except when I stand on it LOL.

Myrtle'' I went a got the Biggest looser digital scale it was $40.00 at Target and it is very close it is actually 3 pounds higher than every doctors scale I have been too'' And even the Winn Dixie scale..I feel very confident about the last weigh in next week Thursday before Surgery'' I have to be at or below 209 to clear for surgery'
And one of the side effects of the Norplant was weight gain .. I had it removed after it moved and was causing me trouble moving my arm and lots of numbness '' I had to go on general anaesthesia and Once removed I asked the doctor for the pills But he gave me an jar with the Norplant system in it ..He told me that I would have a hard time to get preggo since the system was remove and it was empty all the meds where in my system needless to say I went to see him 45days latter and was already preggo with number 3 and I was only intimate with my ex 1 and he was drunk""LOL""

I also had the norplant but I don't recall if I gained weight with it or not. I do know that when I got the Depo shots, I gained 6 pounds every time. I was on them for a year and a half. 6 pounds x 6 shots. Total weight gain from that at least 36 pounds. I don't remember if that was before or after I was pregnant with my son though. My marriage after he was born was so terrible I think I have blocked out as many details as I could.
It just seems like whatever I do I can't lose any more weight. I did go get me a new digital scale the other day. The other one I had was so old and I couldn't hardly tell what weight it was giving me. Now I can. And I now I don't want to. LOL.

Bad thing is that when you try to stay away from them they come to you'' And you have to build that will power ''
I was thinking back when I did not have my tubal I would have a baby and within 3 month be back to my regular weight 160-170 and after my 2nd child I had the Norplant put on and I blow up to 220 I had it removed because it move and with in a week and half I had lost 8 pound. Then got preggo by the time I went to the doctors for Birth control ''And really lost the weight because of Morning sickness ended en the hospital for 2 weeks the highest I weight with my last child was 215 then got the tubal and all weight just came back '' I truly believe that having a tubal was like (To Me) like a Spayed Dog '' Have you notice that spayed dog get fat "" LOL""

Thanks for the tip Cheadlemom. I to have been walking, 2 miles everyday. I thought of running but like you said I'm no spring chicken, more of a old hen. I was 210lb and I'm down to 204lb. Thanks again good luck with your wt loss. Frances

THIS is crazy:: I was walking and lost 8 pounds fast...decided to start running (huffing and puffing because I'm not 19 anymore!) and then PUT 5 BACK ON--crazy enough...
Then, I researched online, from what I follow, AEROBIC exercise is great for losing weight and getting in shape. ANAEROBIC is also good, but is good for building muscle and promoting long tern endurance, AND (according to the site) is NOT recommended for people that are overweight as it adds weight and does not burn fat as successfully!
So all my running was wasted (not totally, it felt good after running), sooooo, now I am going to go back to walking until I can work back up to jogging again. It says that anerobic happens when you are consistantly out of breath. Running would be ok if I was not out of breath and was able to speak clearly and easily while running.
This is actually a good thing though, now my DH can join me and we can spend some quality time together!

hello chrisNbrian. i am so skeptical about the acai berry diet. i know its not coming off in a week just would like to see my efforts. what type of diet are you using. i even thought slimfast, weight watchers. my concern is i dont want to spend an arm and a leg to lose weight and then have not have enough $$$$ for surgery. that it will take that much longer. feeling frustrated dont know what path to take. trying to stay focused thanks for info

Davenports, I tried the Acai berry and clease set from Vitamin World. It didn't do a thing, so don't get your hopes up. Maybe you will have better luck but you never know.

I UNDERSTAND U FERTILEMYRTLE45. I GET DISCOURAGED. I HAVE TO LOSE SO MUCH. SIXTY POUNDS. I HAVE A GOOD WAYS TO GO. BUT TRY TO STAY POSITVE. Davenports, just a word about that Acai Berry deal. I just sent back a bottle because basically it is a scam (IMO). First off you have to pay shipping on the bottle. OK 4.95, no big deal. But what they only tell you in teeny tiny itty bitty little print, is that you only have 15 days. After 15 days they charge you for the bottle. $60! And every month they send you another bottle and charge you another $60 until you cancel.
How on earth do they expect you to really get a feel for something that is supposed to take a couple of months to really start showing results in less than 15 days. When I called to cancel they tried to reduce the cost of the bottle I already had and add another one to it. I said no and she tried to reduce the cost of the bottle again. When I still said no she finally canceled my "membership" and gave me an RMA to send the remainder of the bottle back (at my expense). She told me to make sure I had tracking on it because if they didn't receive it in 10 days, they would charge my card.
If I could find it somewhere cheaper and without having to deal with a "membership" I might try it again. I did feel like I slept better the 3 nights I actually took it.
