We were nervous about that too. Last week we were hearing about more of it in NH including a school a few towns a way that closed. Pray about it, don't worry over something you can't do anything about (easier to say than do-I must admit I was concerned.). It worked out for us, no one in our family has caught it yet. If you take precautions and pray about it, more likely than not, you'll be fine.

Motherbug,
Handwashing is one of the biggest preventive measures in transmission of the swine flu. If you develop any symptoms of concern, you should call the facility and speak with our anesthesiologist who can further direct you. I hope this helps. We look forward to seeing you on next week.

I had the same problem the week before I came. Just had my TR yesterday & a week and a half ago all 3 ok my kids were home sick with the flu. I was so worried & nervous at the same time. I definately didn't need to get sick & my DH usually catches everything the kids get bit luckily both of us survived. When I went to the store I'm sure everyone looked at me like I was crazy because I bought everyone their own germ-x, Lysol, meds for the kids, vitamin c pills, airborne, & stocked up on orange juice. One lady asked me if I was ok & I said sure just taking precaution! Your not sick are you? She just smiled & said no honey I'm not! I thought it was hillarious. Anyhoo... Just wanted to say good luck to you & I will see you on the other side!!

My son had it. They rest of us avoided it, and I think that's because he covered when he coughed, stayed in his room mostly, and we all washed hands like crazy.. My LO and I were put on Tamiflu to prevent, but my DH and two DDs weren't. It wasn't bad, but then you hear stories like a local "healthy" boy went into kidney failure and died. What's up with that? Where'd the kidney failure come from? But our schools are running rampid with it and they aren't closing. Kids are coming to school with fevers for days in a row, and the parents have to be told to keep them home. It seems the parents are more worried about academics than their health. Anyway, the best bet is hand washing and avoiding someone who has the signs. I've stopped taking my little guy to stores if I can avoid it, and when he does go, he only goes in his stroller, no carts! We do use purell and lysol wipes like crazy when we're out, and I don't touch anything if I can help it. Yes, I've become a germaphobe.

I can understand your worry. I wouldn't want to have to postpone either! But, I'd say your kids have a lesser chance of getting it if they don't attend school.

Gosh ~ with my reversal scheduled for next week - I am just getting concerned (to say the least) about the swine flu! The school across the street from my home was canceled yesterday for the remainder of the week b/c hundreds of kids have the swine flu. Schools all across my district are closing this morning b/c of the same thing....kids all sick with the flu. My husband is a med tech at our local hospital and he said yesterday was a zoo with kid after kid coming to the er b/c of the flu!

Usually I don't worry about this stuff, my three children are homeschooled - so we aren't around a concentrated measure of children like other kids are...but, I don't want to get sick before my procedure. I think I am going to go into hiding!!! Bath in germ-X and where a mask! LOL!!
