Chris We ate at Don Shula's a few times. (That is the restaurant in the hotel) it yummy but not cheap as Becky said.
~I bought my soap at walmart and I just went up to the pharmacist and they actually had it behind the counter and he gave it to me. The hotel offers WIFI for free, which was really nice! (Thanks Sheraton)My DH brought our laptop to the center as well. To keep him busy.
~We also didn't pay the extra price for the breakfast. I just had hubby bring some snack to tide him over till we got back to the hotel. If I'm not mistaken I was back to the hotel by 10:30. I was Dr. Berger's first case at 8am.
I am super excited for you, can't wait to hear that you had your surgery! Danaka

I didn't know that you can add breakfast for the $20 bucks but I know I did get the breakfast for me and my friend and we LOVED it. I have to say, that hotel had the best food! Even their room service food was tasty.

We walked to the little mall from the clinic the morning of my pre-op. It is a small mall but that is where I bought my soap...I asked the pharmacist and he directed me. The hotel staff is very helpful if you are looking for something to do and will drop you off and pick you up anytime. We browsed B Dalton bookstore and ate at Jason's deli...they have an excellent salad bar! But, there are many other restaurant choices nearby. We grocery shopped at Walmart after dinner (across the parking lot from Jason's deli) and brought back some fruit, bagels, & snacks for our room. There is a small refrigerator in the room, so we skipped the $20 breakfast.

The shuttle here brings you anywhere within 5 miles you want to go. The restaurant at the hotel is wonderful but a little pricy for breakfast. We have gotten egg Mcmuffins from McDonalds and this morning we took the shuttle to a little diner right down the street, close enough to walk if you wanted too. There is also a pub within walking distance that serves burgers, salads, etc. There is a food lion grocery store. We bought soup that's ready to microwave, jello, fruit cups, etc. For things to do, there is a botanical garden associated with the university. The plants are mainly past peak/out of bloom, but they have some neat sculptures displayed from now through Nov. something. There is a planeterium and an art museum too. I don't know whether or not they are open on Sunday. The shuttle will take you there. We bought our soap at our local Walmart in the pharmacy dept. first aid aisle.

There is a grocery store near the sheraton, less than a mile away. And yes, many patients bring their laptops and are able to connect to wifi. There is a restaurant inside the hotel, most of the restaurants within walking distance are fast food restaurants. The Hibiclens would probably be found in the first aid section, if not, you can ask the pharmacist. The mall you are probably thinking of is Southpoint Mall, and it is about 15 mins away from the Sheraton.

McD's is right at the hotel and you can walk to it. My husband like this fact the day of surgery. I had mine on a Monday too and he did not want to leave me along to long, so he ran there and back for him something to eat and got me a tea right after we got back to the hotel after the TR. I wish you all the best on your big day. Miranda

I can answer the free wifi question! They do have it.
I bought the soap at CVS. It's a aqua green bottle. I didnt know they had a free breakfast for an extra twenty!
I am not a breakfast eater, so I would have to say that it wouldnt have saved us any money.
We rented a car, went to the bookstore (but had to drive to it), went out to dinner, walked around the hotel, took long drives to adventure out, and watched TV. I think I talked and text messaged my kids a lot when I got too bored and Marc was asleep. Which I think my kids dread when I have free time like that.
I found that it was easier to pass time than I thought.

Is there a grocery store within walking distance to the Sheraton? Any restaurants that are walking distance?
Do the rooms at the hotel have free wifi if we bring our laptop?
I've been looking for the Hibiclens soap. What is it by at Walgreens?
Is the extra $20 a night worth it for the free breakfast?
We are flying into Chapel Hill on a Saturday evening and Tubal Reversal Surgery is on a Monday. What would you do all day long on Sunday? I've heard about a mall, but how close is it and what is the name of it?
I'm sure I'll think of some more questions but that's it for now.
