Well....here I am....in North Carolina....sitting in this nice comfy big old bed waiting for me appointment at chapel hill. I didn't crash in the plane afterall!! I am already relieved, excited and not nervous anymore (well, until my surgery tomorrow! LOL!)
This hotel is the bomb! Ok.....I need to eat. Haven't had a bite or morsel since yesterday around 3:00pm. Don't wanna faint at the clinic.

Chrissy-- I completely understand how you're feeling!!
I am glad I flew to CH...I cannot imagine driving from Austin to CH... Danaka- I can only imagine how long the drive home must have felt!!!
Rule of thumb for recovery: be patient with yourself. Don't rush recovery.... pushing through the discomfort and forcing yourself to "be normal" will ultimately catch up with you. Now, of course, everyone heals differently-- but at the end of the day, we ALL heal
To Danaka's point, you may need a lil help in the BM department... I have had the opposite... I am more regular than before TR...I feel like my body has gloriously re-set itself!
But...drink loads of water.... rest when you need to... be good to yourself...and let people help you....

Bye ladies! I am leaving for the airport right now....I managed to sleep about 1/2 hour last night. I am not even nervous about the TR anymore. I hate flying so much, that has overtaken my fears!! LOL

Good call on the flying!!! We drove to Chapel Hill from NY and that 15 hour drive home about killed me! Even though we stopped often, I was terribly uncomfortable and just wanted to go to bed. Flying is nothing, and Southwest is a great airline. They are super nice. If you tell them you are nrevous flying, they will do their best to make you comfy.

I was really nervous too. Everything went fine, and it will for you too. Enjoy the trip. The kids will be fine and you will come back whole again-just with a really tender abdomen. We were picked up by the woman on the website-Janice-but she is moving to Colorado and another woman is taking over for her. The other one picked us up-can't remember her name. They were both very nice. Safe and happy travels and Don't Worry! Becky

I left a message with the lady....so, If that doesn't work out - we will get to chapel hill one way or another! At least I wont' have a sore bottom after sitting in a car for 11 hours!
I will keep ya'll posted as I outwardly melt down..... thanks!

Oh my mother in law was gonna use that lady but when she talked to the air lines about a rental car, I guess it was 26 bucks a day. So she decided she wanted to do that. Danaka
YOU ARE GONNA DO GREAT!!! I am so excited for you. Your day will be here and gone before you know it. (yes make sure that you have that laptop) You will find yourself checking the message boards closer and closer to surgery. It helped me stay saine. lol Another thing that was great, was a few of us met in the lobby and it was nice to put faces with user names. I felt we made some friends that night
Safe drive and tons of relaxation on the way there. Enjoy the leaves. It was so beautiful last week. I saw the weather and it said its gonna be cold (but I'm sure your use to the cold weather coming from Connecticut)
I will say a pray for you to make sure your safe and that you get some LONG tubes. Keep us posted, can't wait to hear from you!! Danaka
