Michelle - Best of luck! You will have a wonderful experience. And Dr. B can take a look at everything going on inside of you and tell you exactly what is going on. Can't wait to hear your stats!

Kay - I so hope this is your time. [Smile]

Hello Ladies,

I just wanted to drop a line and let you know that I am heading to CH TOMORROW!! I have my consult with Dr. B on Wed and my TR on Thursday. I never imagined the range of emotions that I would feel about this this... excited, hopeful, nervous, fearful.

Question: I had a sharp, stabbing pain in my right side for about 3 days. It lasted for about 30 seconds and went away. It is the kind of pain that brings tears to my eyes. I do sometimes have O pain, but nothing like this and I am not supposed to O until the 18th, so if O pain, this was about 6 days early (and no EWCM). Has anyone else had this? Is it related to TL?

Thanks!
~ Michelle

Kay,

You have another cheerleader here in Utah hoping this third try is your last! Although I do not fully understand the frustration of having to repeat a cycle, I know how hard the meds, cost, emotions (and the list goes on) of IVF can be on you. You just don't get it until you've done it.
I promise once you are pregnant with those twin boys [Smile] , the pain of the past few years will vanish!

Wishing you safe travels next month.

Monica
Seth and Ethan are 8 months old today

Thank you Carol

And thank you for the inspirational stories Tracy. I am so thrilled for the ladies you know who were so lucky! We moved on from TTC ourselves just over a year ago. (and no, giving up getting pg did not get me pg! LOL) After 13 medicated cycles, with no luck, and learning that my body just doesnt respond as it should to the fertility drugs (poor responder)we moved on to IVF with donor egg. It was a hard decision, to give up my genetic connection, but the odds of IVF with my eggs resulting in a life birth were about 3%, while the odds the RE gave us for conceiving on our own at home were barely above 0. IVF is too expensive to gamble on a 3% chance, so we decided to move on to donor eggs which gives me at least, better odds of one day carrying my husbands child/ren. Who knows, maybe this third DE IVF cycle will be the one [Smile]

But I do thank you for posting - I know your stories will give hope to others on this thread, pg happen every day for ladies who didnt think it could happen!

Good luck everyone!!

Kay, I have a friend who just delivered a healthy baby girl at age 44. I have another friend who is 35, was dx'd with MS 2 years ago, had to have her thyroid taken out and has a softball size uterine fibroid. Talk about a rough deal. She TTC for a few years and her health kept getting in the way. She refused to get the fibroid removed because it would put off TTC too long. She was stressed all the time..Her husband has a daughter from a 1st marriage and she never had a child...She was so miserable that she quit trying because it was permeating every aspect of her life..Well, she got pregnant a few months later and is now due to deliver a baby boy in October...The deck was truly stacked against her and the stress was inhibiting her journey..There is lots of hope out there. May you grab onto a little bit of it and may it turn into luck for you! All the best...I know it is impossible to take the pressure off yourself but try to enjoy the little things around you and not stress too much. I hope you get your happy ending!

Tracy

ps - I had my last son at age 40 so don't let anyone ever tell you that "these old eggs" of ours aren't still motivated enought to bring you that miracle baby!

Carol, yes, we live in the Netherlands, my DH is in the military, currently stationed at a NATO base in the Netherlands. We've been here since late October last year, and for the 18 months prior to coming here we were in Belgium at another NATO base.

I am 41 - will be 42 in October. I had my TR 9/29/04. I have three children from my first marriage (this is my second marriage). My oldest daughter is 23, she currently lives in Iowa. My second daughter was born Oct 85, 8wks premature, and died Jan 4, 86 without ever leaving NICU. My middle daughter will be 22 in August, and is currently stationed in Iraq. My "baby" is 16 and loving living in Europe.
This is my DH's first marriage, he has no children of his own. He is also the only son, only grandson - so there is just a bit of pressure to pass on the family name [Roll Eyes]

It has been a long journey, and some days have been harder than others to maintain even a tiny shred of hope. But I do not regret having the TR - I wish it had been successful for us, but I dont regret that we tried it. I so hope that the journey for you and the other ladies new to this, is much easier!

Jess, thanks for the well wishes. I am once again hoping for healthy twin boys so I can get off this particular roller coaster and hit the gift shop: I'm ready for the t-shirt saying "I survived..."

Chris how are you doing? Any hopeful signs?

Betty - I hope your AF stays lost for another 9 months!

I so agree we need some good news on this board! Have a wonderful day ladies!!

Yes Kay, you've read right. I am pg with tr baby #3. Just purely a surprise, but a welcomed one none the less ;-) As i said before, I was going through my email and found that poem. I Just thought it would help a little. I pray that everything goes 100% for you this round and with lots of luck and such it will be your last round of IVF. This is such a hard and trying journey and I wanted to let you know I was thinking of you and you were in our prayers. I think everyone in my house will jump for joy for you when we finally see your BFP. You have no idea you have a cheering section in NJ. Good luck and as always we will be saying lots of prayers for you. Jess
