I got the flooding CD2 heaviness immediately after TL and had it for 3 years until my TR. Now it is still heavy but not nearly as bad. I am still spot on regular at age 44.

I have a friend who got PG with an iud. she had it for about 5 or 6 months and then got PG so as rare as it is..there were 2 patients in her doctors office that got PG with it that same month...I still suggest full blood work up to see hormone levels before anyone jumps to any conclusions about menopause...

Linda5-
The draw of another child is very strong..Being on this board make it harder not to think about it..My husband would NEVER agree to or decide to have another child. Financially, emotionally and physically..we are at our max with the 3 we have. I do not think it would happen to me at this point even it I wanted it to. We already had our "oops" baby at age 40 and he is a sweetheart and a great joy. You guys need to be on the same page for bringing a child into this world. I know that when you start to feel you will lose your fertility forever soon you kind of get desperate and want to put it off..I was actually talking to my husband about my total fear that meopause would be like having PTLS all over again and that amost wrecked my marriage..I asked him what would be the better option ..menopause or another baby (in jest of course)..He did not like either option, truthfully... I think it is only natural to want to hold on to what we may feel makes us a woman on some level (the ability to bear children). Menopause is final I am sure you love your kids to death and would welcome another,of course, but it should be a mutual decision as it impacts your entire family. I have had the same thoughts here and there but I know we cannot have another...I hope you look inside yourself, have an honest talk with the hubby about how you feel and why you both feel that way and find peace with whatever decisoin you make.

Hi Ladies
It has been a while since i have been on.
I am comming to my one year anniversary soon, and i am still yearning for another baby.
I keep it to myself, my husband is totally against it, and being that i am 44, no one else can understand.
My periods use to be moderate to light flow, but lately on CD 2 i have lots of bleeding and clots. I go through super tampons every 1-2 hours for several hours with bleeding through all of that at least once.
My doctor wanted to do an ultrasound to check for fibroids, and he talked about BC!
I am worried that my time is running out, i have regular periods still, but i have this nagging thought that it is too late.
I pray to God to help me and grant me my one last wish. I have four beautiful children already, but God help me i want one more.
Am i just crazy?
I am even considering leaving my husband over this but i don't want to hurt my kids. They love him and need both of us.
Why do i feel like there is still one more for me?

Jen, I went through a similar experience a couple months ago and now. I had some spotting the month of March I usually have very heavy periods. So I though I might be pregnant, well after tons of test and BFN. After 3 weeks of my period being due took a blood test negative. Then in April no period at all. Went to doctor and he put me on progesterone to restart my period. Well, I took it for 10 days and then a week later started my period. But it hurt on my left side and was very heavy. They did ultrasound and saw I had a cyst on my left ovaries, she said I had 2 but one burst hence the heavy bleeding. She gave me meds but said that was why I hadn\'t't had my period and I had pain. Well, I though I was going the pre-menopausal. But it was a cyst, now all is well and I am TTC TR#2 and I will be 41 next month. So might want to have Dr. check for cyst. GOod luck.

Well, still no AF??? I did test last Saturday on CD28 so I figure if I was pregnant it would have showed up positive then. Tomorrow is my yearly-good timing. Getting pregnant with an IUD in is pretty rare.

I've had a lot of soreness on my left side - feels like ovulation pain, it's not pain that I would think OMG need to go to the hospital, just annoying. I guess hello early Menopause. [Frown] Drats...

I just thank my lucky stars that I was able to have Rebecca she was truly a gift. [Smile] I hope that everyone gets their gift as well. Took me two years and lots of treatments, then that ever faithful night - the day our RE said NOPE only one follicle on wrong side, no BD - we did BD that night and first BFP ever in my journey that month. So to us, it was a true Miracle.

Oh I wanted to let you know as well, when I was pregnant - I started bleeding - spotting at about 5/6 weeks and didn't really stop until I was 7 months. She weighed 8lbs 12oz 20.5 inches. My Dr. said I birthed a toddler. lol

Also have spotting lots of time after I O'd. I think it's a good sign.

Hot Flashes have stopped as well. I don't know what is going on. I suppose at my age I should start expecting it. See what the Dr. says tomorrow.

Linda - I am 41 and have had ovulation spotting during 3 cycles in the last year. Never before in my life. I had my LH and FSH done on CD3 and both were less than 6, which is excellent. I know I am really lucky to have such good numbers at my "age"!

Jen - I had the Paragard IUD (not the Mirena, which has hormones) from when my TR son was born then for 18 months. So I was 36.5 - 38 at the time. No hot flashes.

The O spotting must be a good thing in some cases, cause I am 11w2d preggo with TR baby#2.

Let us know what you find out - both of you!

Hugs,

Jo Ann

Well it's CD 30 for me today and still no AF? I tested just to be on the safe side...BFN. I had an IUD put in after Becca was born. It caused my cycle to do weird things for a while, but then back to normal.

I have my yearly this Thursday - it was planned pretty good if AF showed up on time. Now not looking so good. [Smile] If it does come today - I'll have her run the FSH blood work - see what is going on.

FSH should be done on CD 3 correct? It's been a while for me to remember all the details on tests.

Hot flashes were non-stop yesterday. Almost one right after the other - but I wasn't as "hot" as I ususally got???? I'm so confused. I thought they were over - only like one little "flash" on Saturday.

Anybody have an IUD and it start causing you problems? I've had it for almost two years. It's the non-hormonal one, copper something or other. ???

I work out - I started a 5-day a week routine - and that is when the hot flashes started...Just thought of that. I'm teaching myself how to jog - I've started at least 1-hour of cardio each day - with some weight training as well.

Maybe that is it.

Can you tell I'm just not ready to hear "your Baby journey is over." [Smile] [Smile]

40's may be the new 30's but unfortunately I think that is mind and not as much body [Frown] I too dread 'the change' as, if nothing else, it will symbolize the end of the baby era for us. My mother had a hysterectomy when she was 36 so I don't know when perimenopause will begin but it does seem to be in our 40's according to all of these womens magazines and medical resources. I do agree that the best way to get an idea is to have your FSH and LH done if you're suspicious...

My Pastor's wife started having this same thing. She called it Mid-cycle spotting. It went on a few months and she went for blood work which told her it was Menopause. She is 43. She was having the hot flashes and spotting which caused her to go get checked out.

Tammy

Ps. Hey Jen!!! Good luck with TR baby #2

If you are concerned about menopause I sugest you speak to your doctor and have him or her run some bloodwork like FSH, LH, etc. to check your ovarian function. Perhaps that will set your mind at ease. I just turned 44 on Wednesday and my periods are basically still normal but a tad longer. I had an FSH in summer after my TR jus to see where I was since we are not TTC but had the TR for PTLS. My FSH was 6 which is not indicative of menopause yet...

good luck.

You know, I've had my first TR baby on 10/04/06 two years after my TR almost to the day - that is when I got my first BFP.

So now she is a beautiful two year old. Randy and I have been together eight years, and we are making it offical this coming September. So we've been thinking a lot about another one. I'm going to be 43 this October.

I turned 40 16-days after Becca was born.

The last three weeks, I've been having lots of hot flashes, just started out of the blue. My period last month was normal, but then I spotted after it for another week.

I'm worried about the "change" starting already as well.

We weren't 100% about trying again, but since this is happening, it opened my eyes to the fact that I think I really did want one more.

I have a yearly next week, I'm going to ask for additional testing to see what is going on.

My period is due tomorrow 26-28 day cycles for me and if its messed up - I'm going to freak for a while.

So if that is all you are having right now, I wouldn't worry if there are no other signs relating to menopause. Right now all I have going are the hot flashes - and I did have these as well after my TL?

They say the 40's are the new 30's and hope like crazy my body isn't at the end of my baby making days just yet.

Lots of Baby Dust to you. Jen

Hi Ladies
I am 44, and wondering if it is normal to have spotting of old looking blood after ovulation? I have been cramping really bad since maybe the day after O, but i have decided not to temp or test, i was way to stressed out.
I think i was CD 20 when i had the spotting, and my cramps were actually worse the day before.
I am wondering about menopause too, but hoping that this isn't that.
Anyone else experience this? I am even wondering if i imagined it. I keep checking for more blood and i am wearing a panty liner which i hate.
