Hi ladies.

Got my results back. FSH 8.2 LH 2.5 and E2 was 33. Diabetes in perfect shape (A1C 6) thyroid in great condition, no protein in urine and kidney function excellent. No anemia, vitamin deficeincy, or calcium issues. Everything is functioning great but I have severe polycystic ovaries.

Maybe too many fertility drugs over the years but Dr. did prescribe metformin. I have several cysts on my left ovary although I did ovulate last month with the homeopathic HCG the egg was too old. So I am hoping metformin and the HCG might do the trick. We're not really TTC but at least now I know why I am not conceiving. The Dr. said to try a few months before we decide to go to IVF.

If you pray then please think of me and throw in a small one to God for me. We could use it right now.

Caroljean you are always in my prayers. I pray so hard you get a BFP this cycle. Any symptoms yet?

Denise I don't know about the crunches because I do Shawn T's Hip Hop Abs. I love it and I feel more like Brittney Spears everyday. LOL I also did body building and still have the arms to show for it because it was so stretched. I tell you the Hip Hop Abs are fun and I am toning back up. It was hard in the beginning but everyday it gets easier. Much easier than crunches!

Ladies I am blessed and I hope you are to, have wonderful day.

Good luck Denise....sounds like your body has been through h*ll also! What we do for these kids! And do you think they appreciate it? LOL I know I desperately need to lose weight and get healthier. I eat pretty healthy, but I have a "southern" husband that loves his meat and potatoes and gravy! I think that is how I have packed on the pounds since I met him. I really hoping 3 months of morning sickness will help me lose a little weight (the baby diet)! [Big Grin] Then I will fix all the surgical needs after birth. After all, DH only gets on pregnancy - regardless of how many babies it gets us - boy or girl!

CarolJean~Wow! Double wow, that is definitely model quality.

I am only 5'3". I began bodybuilding when my last turned 1, I was 37. I was a 6 petite when I turned 40, I was so strong that I could pin my husband easily, but I was not overtly/grossly muscular. However to achieve such I was working out 6 days/wk. Since then I have had 2 surgeries, including TR. One was for vaginal reconstruction due to my 15 yr. old DS that weighed in at 11.6 and delivered him naturally! I had been incontinent for many years, it was awful, but okay now. I also had a serious head injury and ended up with a moderate concussion that took about 6 months to fully recover from. THAT scared me, in a good way, and I don't focus so much on "how I look" anymore, which is a good thing. I would like to drop a little of this extra poundage just to feel a little better, not to mention that I am naturally busty and when I lose weight my breast go down also.

So, due to the surgery, head injury, TR, I am definitely overweight and need to get a little healthier. I would like to do a little core toning, but ouch still. I did figure how to do a standing up core exercise that doesn't hurt and little tiny crunches lying down. Hey, something is better than nothing!

Blessings to all!

Donca....I can't help you in the exercise dept...I gave up crunches years ago..LOL. My first (turning 22 nex week) tore my abdomen up. I am 5'9" and weighed only 125 pounds when I got pregnant with him (model body!). I gained 60 pounds and ripped my muscles extending from my belly button (now hernia) going south for about 6 inches. Both Dr. B that did TR last year and my RE that did the lap a few weeks ago said I really need to get the hernia and torn muscle fixed. I was hoping I could get the whole area "resculpted" after baby.....hopefully that will happen soon!

Sandra...so good to hear from you. I am about 6 dpo today. Had the lap just over 3 weeks ago. Have been on metformin for 3 months and did 10 days of clomid this cycle. SOooo....praying it all worked and there is a little bean (or two) growing in there! When I pray I tell Him "give me one or two or however many you think I can handle...not how many DH can handle, but how many I can handle [Smile] " Just praying my old eggs are up to par! KUP on your upcoming b/w numbers. I hope they are good enough to indicate using your own eggs!

Good luck to everyone!!!

My breasts are so swollen/heavy and boy are they tender! I am wondering, wondering...IF...just IF. But I am also due to AF Mon/Tues. But they have NEVER felt like THIS before. We did catch 5 days BD at O, so we shall see. OMG, I am a little excited, yet apprehensive. If it is BFN my DH will be SOOO disappointed. I told him, "That's okay, we can try again next month and we will incorporate the Maca that I read about on another message."

(Fingers crossed). [Wink]

Denise

Tummy/incision area is still tender, especially if I sit straight up without rolling to the side first. I was going to try to do a "plank" when I exercised and it was an absolute NO-GO, major "ouch!"

How long did your pain last? When were you able to do "crunches" or "sit-ups" or any "core" exercises?

Hi ladies. I thought I would drop in and say HI! and noticed our thread losing momentum.

Next week is my physical and Dr did blood draws for FSH, E2 and LH to see where I am at. I have a feeling I am entering into the final stages of menopause. He also tested my thyroid again.

Is it me or do you ladies get very tender breasts after O? I was told too much estrogen can cause this. I don't know what to think. My body has really changed on me and not for the better. My cycles are ranging from 38-59 days.

We're still looking at IVF/DE as an option but I still am up in the air about it. Not that I mind having a donor egg, just that I don't know if I can handle anymore BFN's especially after an expensive procedure.

Caroljean how are you doing? Did you O yet?

Tryn41more good luck with your TR and best wishes for a BFP. Welcome to the boards.

Denise hope you are doing well and that BFP comes soon.

Betty are you doing IVF with your own eggs? I wish you so much luck. I think my eggs are just too far gone.

Hope all is well with you and you get enriched blessings everyday. My thoughts are always with you.

I am fairly new to the board but am also one of the proud ladies over 40 TTC! I am scheduled for my TR on 6/23/09...not too nervous yet but as next week gets closer maybe it will kick in. I am 41 will be 42 in August and my DH is 37 will be 28 in December. Combined we have 5 children they are:

DS 21
DS 16
DN 13 (Dear Niece, have had custody of her for 5 yrs due to my sisters death in an auto accident so by all rights she is mine)
DSS 12
DSS 6

We like to say we have a 6 year old going on 21 and a 21 year old going on 6! We have custody of all 5 children and I jokingly say I am raising more kids that are not biologically mine than those that are and just want to even the odds out a little...ha ha. We haven't told anyone yet that we are even going this route. Going to have the TR and see how it goes before we tell anyone. This message board is a God send to anyone, regardless of age contemplating going through this. Once stumbling across the website I couldn't imagine going anywhere else. My OB/GYN would do the TR however he has only done 10 in his career so it was an easy decision to go with CHTRC.

Congrats to those who have conceived, my sorrows to those who have been unsuccessful. We have talked and will try for a maximum of two years and if God choses to bless us we will be ecstatic and will cherish every moment. If it isn't meant to be then we will accept that as well and wait for the grandchildren to arrive [Smile]

Sandra, Thank you for the best wishes. Boy, this is a lot of work! LOL Before TR we were lucky if we could find time for intimacy twice a month. I am plump tuckered out from catching this O, even if we skipped a day in between. OMG! I am so not young anymore, LOL!

So, we shall see. I am due to AF around the 24th. I am just a little doubtful because I think I have some prolapse going on. It seems like my cervix protrudes more than it should, making it more difficult for "fishies" to find a target. Did some research and will see OB/GYN on 22nd to have a looksee.

BUT...I still hope! [Smile]

Good Afternoon Ladies!

Hope everyone has had a great week. School is finally out here!! YAYYY!!! [Smile] Can you tell I am excited. We are taking a small 2 month break from our IVF procedures. We are still trying naturally and just had a really good friend of mine who is 45 call me the other day and she is 3 months pregnant. She conceived naturally and it was AFTER her OB/GYN told her that she probably wouldn't be able to conceive due to her age. So I was really excited to hear her story.

We will start back in Aug with our IVF rounds - I think I just needed a break emotionally, physically and mentally. Trying though naturally is a tremendous amount of fun too! [Razz]

Taking my 12 yr old daughter with 2 of her friends tonight to see Taylor Swift in concert which will be fun and I'm just trying to really NOT think about getting pregnant for the next few weeks - easier said than done!

Hope you all are having a good summer so far. I agree with CarolJean - It's about time we need some BFPs - It gets so quiet on our board some times. I think of you ladies often and hope that everything is going well!

Sandra, Michele, Carmencita, Emmie, CarolJean, Kay and all of the newbies - take good care of yourself!!!!!

Sending good vibes out to all of you hoping for a BFP in the near future.

Myrtle, those numbers are pretty good. I wouldn't be discouraged at all.

Hey Sandra, good to see you post. I hope things pick up in your selling business.

I hope everyone is doing well. We need some more BFPs for our over 40 group! Lets start hustling! [Smile] I am about to O any day now. Hopefully the lap / hsg got everything in working order! Wish me luck!

Thank you Sandra. We are on 2nd O since TR, should be within next 2 days. Doing the dance every other day so those little guys are plentiful and strong. Hopefully I have a little treasure that finds its way into my tube. It is so ironic...we were watching TV last night and what came on..."Look Who's Talking", my DH and I laughed so much watching the beginning when she got pregnant. [Big Grin]

Cheers to 40+!

Just wanted to drop in and say Hi to all of you ladies.

I have been just to lazy to post. Just wanted to let you know I have discontinued my website due to lack of interest. I am sticking to ebay.

I am trying to save funds for IVF/DE but I don't know if that will happen. I started selling items on ebay but it is slow going. I may be 50 by the time we can do it LOL.

Michele I also just turned 46 but I guess I am just too darned stubborn to give up. Just wanted to wish you blessings and luck and I am truly sorry about your m/c.

Sue don't give up. Plenty of women who go through menopause get PG. I know I'm going through it but to be honest I keep hoping in the back of my mind I'll get PG. Baby dust to you.

Congrats Denise on your TR. I pray you have a short journey to your BFP.

Caroljean as always you are in my prayers. I hope the lap surgery is what does the trick for your BFP. Big hugs to you.

Linda nice to see you post its been awhile. Congrats on the new little one. I can only hope I follow in your footsteps.

Carol congratulations on TR baby # 2. I hope you have an awesome nine months.

Myrtle your numbers look really good, with #'s like that I would sure get busy on BD. Also thanks for the article it was very informative.

Donna so sorry about your m/c but now you know that you can get PG even without fimbria. What an awesome uplifting story.

Emmie, Debs, Kay, Carmencita, Janice, Chris, Betty and all my old posters my heart truly misses you.

Ladies take care and live like there is no tommorow because you never know what tonit might bring. Big Hugs.

Caroljean, LOL about the crossed legs.

song of joy, congrats on your BFP!

still at it, your post gave me a bit of hope. If only I could get this 15 lbs off and get a windfall to hurry up and get the surgery.

I got my labs back the other day and just don't know what to think.

E2 = 34
FSH = 7.3
TSH = 1.2
LH = 4.8

The nurse that called to give me my results seemed to want to rush me into seeing the RE if we are planning on doing IVF. She was really trying to discourage getting the surgery and talked about the live birth rates and such and she felt that it wasn't a very successful procedure since many end up going to an RE for IVF anyway. I did point out that I understood all that. I told her that CH had up tons of statistics and that I was sure that they weren't 100% accurate because that would mean they would need every single person who had a TR to report back and I know that some don't.

DH doesn't seem to want to talk about it at the moment either. Although he did ask if I had gotten my BW results back yet. When I told him what they were, that was the end of that conversation.

Myrtle
