Thanks for all the info Laurel...unfortunately for me my thyroid is not the worst of my problems as i had an extremely high E2 result of 295 which suppressed the FSH to a level of 6. The FSH looks good but it is probably much much higher. So now i have to check for a cyst and if i don't have one it means i have diminished ovarian reserve ....thanks for all your good info and i wish you the best of luck in ttc!

It's good that you got your thyroid levels checked, because I used up a whole year of TTC when it was impossible. Mine was 21 (yes, twenty-one) and I just felt achy, but brushed it off as being 40. My 1 a day pill reduced it gradually to 1.5. The Dr. told me 1-2 is the ideal baby making range, otherwise .4 - 4.0 is normal.
You should start taking the medicine right away, because they give you a low dose, then you go in 1-2 months later to check it and possibly increase the medicine. It took me 6 months to get the right dose. You would think they could just give you one amount based on height & weight, but that's not how they do it. Good luck. Laurel 41, TR Oct 2007

I also just read than endocrinologists (?)...fertility experts say that a woman's range of TSH should be between 1 - 2 to get and stay pregnant...some won't even do IVF if its above that...i keep seeing that over and over that if it is above 2, could have a very difficult time ttc. They say there is also a very strong link between hypothyroidisim and early miscarriage....now that's making me think that maybe i lost the first one back in march because of this...i never expected to have this problem.
I also read that in Can. in 2005 they changed what is defined as normal to .3 - 3.0. I'm still above that..

according to what i just found your TSH is normal
As of May 2009, at most laboratories in the U.S., the official "normal" reference range for the Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) blood test runs from approximately .5 to 5.0.
and in canada i saw the normal range is .4-4.4 which would make your TSH still normal

Seems like your numbers ARE good..? And i totally understand where you're coming from. I can already see this ttc business putting a tiny wedge between dh and I..It's all stress related i think and how we handle it. I don't handle it very quietly or gracefully i think and over time, that could cause problems....i can already see that after only 6mths. This is such a difficult road for some of us...

My fsh last month was 8.2 E2 33 and LH 2.5. The only reason I quit actively TTC is my marriage was in really bad shape after 4 years of TTC. I now count the blessings I do have instead of counting on the blessing I may never have.

Sandra...did you have the fsh done? i have heard if its over 10 that is not good...?
Also, how do you decide the month that you will not ttc anymore? we have said we would try for a year which will end in January but i'm sure it will be hard at the time..

That scares me that you had no ovulation and got some cysts...i can't lose any months at all and i'm afraid it might screw up my cycles....At 44, my time is just about up and i am worried my window of opportunity is slipping away.....

Wow! That progesterone is excellent. I noticed you asked on the other thread about clomid and it thinning your uterine lining. If it was me I would try it. At least you might know how it effects you. Not all women get a thin lining. I tried it and ended up with no ovulation and cysts. AF didn't show for 59 days so I do know clomid is not for me. It just may be what you need to get that BFP. Good luck.

My Dr. ordered TSH...thyroid check... but i didn't have it checked with the progesterone on CD 21....he grouped it with the CD 3 testing i will do next week. Is that when you all have had it checked? Someone said to do it on cd 21?
