Hi Shannon, I am glad you shared. It is such a fear of the unknown and I totally understand where you are coming from. I am sitting at the Sheraton right now, up 3 hours before my pre op appointment and still worrying they will say there is nothing they can do.....I really think it is to try and prepare myself for the worst when I think that way. As if it will lesson the dissapointment somehow. What is reassuring to me and I am certain to you as well is, that no matter what the outcome, we tried and have the amazing partner we always wanted to go through it with by our side. I wish you much luck in your journey and I am happy to chat along the way. Thank you again for responding to my post, it makes me feel better knowing there are other ladies out there in their late 30's going through the same thing I am. Here's to positive thoughts no matter how hard they are to conjure up!!!!!

I turned 39 in May. My TR is scheduled for July 28. I can totally relate to deteech. I fear going in, having the procedure, then being told they were unable to successfully reconnect my tubes. I have 3 children fromm y previous marriage (ages DD 11, DD 9, and DS 4 1/2). I am very concerned about the possibility of miscarriage because I had 4 mc's after I had my 2nd daughter then my miracle baby was born. I did have one more MC after my son was born (in '06). That is when I had my TL. I figured I had my 3 children, I was going thru a divorce, and even if I met someone I wanted to marry I wouldn't want any more kids, or any more mc's. Two months after my TL I reconnected with my high school sweetheart who wanted to marry me when I was 19. I loved him but he was in the Navy and I was too immature to keep doing the long distance thing so I broke up with him. Stupid decision. Married a jerk, divorced the jerk, and married my sweetie on May 30 2009. He never married and has no children. We both want to have a baby together. If the Tr is successful (and I'm believingit will be) then my fear moves into the MC category. Part of me feels foolish for putting myself onto that roller coaster again, but I feel like I want to at least try. If we never tried then we'd never know. If I do miscarry I will be so sad but I will come thru it and maybe the next pg will be successful. I had 4 mc's before I was blessed with my gorgeous son. Each one was so devastating but then God gave me Jonathan. It is a journey, one that I want to share with my new husband. I do worry about how the heartbreak would affect him but I'm going to try to be positive. I've already seen an RE to get some preliminary testing done and have him on board WHEN I get pg to start all the meds right away. Sorry this is so long. I haven't been talking to anyone about all this stuff going on in my head. Thx for listening! Best wishes to all of you wonderful ladies. Keep sharing your experience, strength, and hope. Shannon

Thank you for responding, and congratulations on your sticky bean! Reading the postings really does give me a positive feeling. I wish you a wonderful pregnancy and healthy baby to come. I will go online and find those testing strips you mentioned. DO you begin testing at a certain day in your cycle or just once AF is gone? Not too knowledgable on the subject just yet.

Deteech i am 35 i had my tr in dec 08 i got 1st bfp dec 28th but it ended in chemical and same happened in January, we then found out that i had an infection. i am now almost 8weeks so it took me 6months to get my sticky bean. i have 4cm on my right and 6.5cm on the left. i used opks and i am glad i did. i got the cheapies online at saveontests.com and they were great. i can't hold my urine for four hours(like most test say you should) but all i had to do with these test was to not drink anything for about 2 hours. Hope everything works out for you. Shawna

Thank you for the advice. I thought it may be better to buy online. Cheaper for sure. I am with ya on providing MN with a bit of help. :-)With my daughter, my ex and I tried for a few months and nothing, then we were planning to try again at another point and the BFP came a month earlier than we were even trying....so I think a OPK will be a good thing this time around, 12 years later. I had the bipolar coagulation method and am really praying there is plenty of tube left to reattach. I think my big fear is I go to CH and come out of surgery and they tell me there was nothing they could do. Although I have read the statistics and know the amazing DR.s can help 98% of their patients, my nervous nelly nature leads me to worry about being in the 2%. IVF will not be an option for us and it would be an enormous let down. BUT I am doing my best to take what comes and totally realize it is in the hands of something bigger than myself. Thank you for the support! My date it coming up very quickly and I am sure before I know it, I will be back home recovering. Best of luck to you Cindy with your pregnancy! That is sooo exciting, do you all plan to find out what the baby is?

I has tubal rings and was left with with 5.0 cm on one side and 5.5 on the other. You should use the ovulation for sure!! They are really inexpensive online. I got like 25 for $12.00 and they work perfectly. In my opinion at our age we should not let nature take its course. Not that we are old but we are not 25 anymore either. Just my opinion. As far as temping and all that mess I could not do it. That was entirely to much trouble for me....lol. Good luck to you June 30th is right around the corner. I am excited for you!

Do you guys mind me asking what type of tubal each of you had to be repaired? Thank you for sharing your stories with me, I am very happy for you both! Ideally my DH and I would like two more children after the TR. I love reading the stories of the other ladies on here but often times the age of the lady is left off and I think that does make a big difference according to the statics page. With my surgery date fast approaching, I am trying to keep positive about the outcome. Did either of you use the OPT or just let nature take it's course. I am debating ordering one....
