Sweetie,,, is not how long it takes to get pregnant because all of us are not the same, is when God think you are ready for it. Just take a deep breath and wait patiently, It will happen, There’s woman’s here that have had wait LONGGGGG time, There’s younger woman’s that take years to get pregnant, others older enough and got pregnant faster than one of 27 -35; I think is just a Pandora Box that you do not have to rushed to open, because you don’t know what can happen, Is just a waiting time matter.

Hi, I have 3 kids aged 22, 20 and 17. I had TL in spring 2005 but following bereavement met my new husband who at 32 had no kids of his own. I had my TR in feb 08 aged 40. After having been told by our own beloved British doctors that i was hitting menopause and IVF was the only chance, we gave up trying ... and 2nd cycle after giving up I finally fell pregnant ( had a couple of v early losses along the way) So it took us 14 months. Im now 29 weeks pregnant and my first grandchild is due 7 weeks after this precious little one! Best of luck , whatever you decide, Morna

I definitely agree with the posting about getting your thyroid checked. You can feel fine, but if it's at the wrong level you won't be fertile. Laurel TR at 39, no BFPs in 2 years

Hi Islgirl, I had my TR 4.20.07 and found out I was pregnant November 20,exactly 6 months after TR! I had my baby before my 39th birthday and had a C-section. Just turned 40 in September and am currently 2 days late for AF (auntie flo). Doing great and my little man is 16 months old and doing great! Hopefully things work out for you and your new hubby, it can definately happen. I haven't been worried about the what-ifs ,but let nature take its course. Much babydust to you on you TR journey! I had two C-sections first at age 21 second age 25 then had my tubes clipped. 2004 went to Dr. Berger i was 37 at the time he cut on the line and all good there, healed nicely.
Tried for almost two years to the date of my TR, I gave my husband until I was 40 to keep trying. Started seeing an RE started oral drugs, then oral drugs with IUI. Still nothing. So started oral drugs, then shots, then IUI. After shots only one follicle showed up on right ovary, we were done. BD that night against RE orders, and ta da...BFP (one and only BFP too)
I gave birth to my first TR baby 16-days before I turned 40 by c-section it went great - no real scar tissue to worry about either.
Ok, so I'm going to be 43 in two weeks, and now having my IUD removed next week. Still not sure if we are going to go for TR baby #2 or not???
Good luck, it might take a little longer but dang if it isn't worth it.
Jen Rebecca Jordan born; 10/04/06; 8lbs 12.1 oz - smarter then all of us too just turned 3.

Thanks to all you brave and strong women for taking time to share your experiences. I certainly feel more hopeful and comfortable with the idea of going through with the tr, espec. after hearing from pkubes68 and wepray4lovechild. Congrats to d02bkj and I wish everyone's ending is as happy as yours. Blessings and Good Luck.

Islgirl, age is an influential factor in becoming pregnant, but before you consider going thru with scheduling/having your TR, thou, you should consider having a series of BW done as well...your Day 3, and Day 21 BW, prolactin, thyroid....all of these results could greatly affect you becoming pregnant even after you were to have a TR, regardless of your age. I am 40, and was lucky all my test came back fine, but there are many others who are much younger, with other issues that would contribute to a more difficult time of becoming pregnant. In my opinion it is better to be prepared ahead of time, then to get the TR, TTC for several months, and THEN find out there are other issues that had you known about prior, could have been addressed as well. I had my TR 12/31/07, got pregnant in June of '08 with one blocked tube, but lost that little bean, pregnant again in Feb '09, and due in 4 1/2 weeks with a little girl
I have never had a C-sec, so I can't answer that question, but it seems like several others already have!
You have some very good questions. As women get older it is more difficult to get pregnant. Age is the most influential factor in getting pregnant. I would strongly recommend having your TR surgery done very soon - the longer you wait, the older you are. We also recommend using OPKs. This will help to ensure when you are ovulating to maxiumize your fertile time. Please feel free to contact our office with any additional questions.

I'm 39 and had TR 5/20/09. I conceived in July, but had a m/c 11 weeks later. I have no regrets on having the TR and continue to hope for another chance...at least now I know there is a possibility for another child.
