With this pregnancy I got a postive BFP with FRER at only 9dpo (FAINT positive but there). It got just slightly darker the next day and a clear blue showed a definite positive at 11dpo yet the doctor's urine test showed negative but they drew blood anyway. My beta came back at 44. I say get the blood test because either way you'll get the definite answers and if it's positive you'll have a "head start" on all the blood work you'll need anyway.
Sounds like it's a positive result if you're consistently getting positive results...even if they are faint. Just another FYI, I am concerned about miscarriage since I just lost a pregnancy in March and took another FRER at 8 weeks and it wasn't glaringly bright, the test line was just wider than the control, not really darker though.
Best of luck to you but please, if you're questioning a BFP pleas go get the bloodwork!

Hey Tammy.....I'v had the best luck with Answer Early Results. I used a FRER and Answer on the same day. FRER showed negative while Answer showed positive. Just an idea! I've never had an evaporation line with either.
There is a bad batch of FRER going around on Ebay. It is giving false positives. The expiration date is 09/08. I got this info off of FF waiting to test area of the forums.

Tammy with all of my pregnancies when I went to the Dr all of my urine tests were neg. I had first numbers less than 50 each time. Only one was a miscarriage and my other 2 negatives are right here in the room. My doctors tests were all less sensitive than the store brands. When I asked the nurse what they picked up at she had no idea and the box didn't say. Go get a blood test. Most people don't go to the doc until 6-8 weeks. Shirley

Tammy - I had a faint line on a first response on 5/25 - I was 13 DPO - That was on a sunday - I did not go in to see the dr until Tuesday because of the holiday and my numbers were only 22. They doubled the next day and then went down - but my point is that I got a BFP on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday morning (all faint with FRER) and my numbers were only 22 - so those tests are very sensitive
How many DPO are you? I would suggest you get BW done anyway - just in case

I'm really confused NOW. I went to the doctor, they did a urine test~ it was negative. They offer a blood test, but what's the use? I figure it must be an early miscarriage? I don't know. Since my doctor visit, I've took another First Response, and it looks the same, not darker. Clearblue Easy, didn't give me a positive until 30 minutes after the test was taken.
Tammy Ps. Dr's office says their test are more sensitive than store bought

I haven't bought another test, I figured I would go in to the doctor tomorrow. I just keep looking at these First Response test and wondering if I'm just "seeing" a line. I know its there, but its so light that it scares me. I'll let you know tomorrow what happens.

my cramping is very very mild, and i felt just like af was coming, they say the beginning of all preg and af both feel the same and that only a bfp is the only way to really know if youre really preg, so if you feel exactly the way you normaly do before af comes then i think youre okay, just think positive and get blood work asap we all feel that somethings wrong in the beginning so youre not alone. let us know youre hcg numbers this week, ill be praying for you dh and baby

Tammy - I used the First Response when I got my first BFP. It was light, but definitely there and came up quickly. My hcg level 3 hours later was 125. Since the test is supposed to pick up at a level of 25, I would have expected it be dark!! I used first morning urine, too. So, just because the test is light doesn't necessarily mean that much.
