We are all excited about the delivery of TR babies since that is what we all work toward with the tubal reversal surgery! However, this message board is for information on tubal reversal surgery and - as everyone knows - topics should be limited to questions and information involving the surgery, preparing for the reversal, etc.
There are MANY boards out there specifically geared toward new mommies and sharing information about breastfeeding and other post-partum issues. However, we do want to keep this message board geared specifically toward reversal surgery.

Tanya/Kelli - I'm on Facebook as well. I haven't used it much but I'd love to friend you (that's what you do on FB, right???)
Becky - welcome and no worries about all the questions - that's what we're all here for. Because breastmilk is designed for babies they tend to process it faster thus need to eat more often. However, by 10 months your little one shouldn't need to eat more then once - if at all - at night. Lydia Grace has been sleeping at least 8 hours but more like 10-12 at night. She goes down at 7 and doesn't wake until 530-630. If he's waking up more then that it's most likely because it's a habit or for comfort. Have you tried comforting him without feeding? You might talk to your pedi and ask for some suggestions. Still, it sounds like he's hitting some major milestones! Oh, and congrats on getting ready to TTC #2. We're still a couple of years off and haven't decided for sure that we will.
Oh, and as for weaning they suggest that you start be eliminating one meal at a time...
Tanya - I know! It's amazing how fast they grow. I'm already starting to think about additional baby proofing...she's scooting backwards whenever I put her on her tummy. I think forward motion is soon to follow and then up on to her hand and knees. Seriously, it's like I turn around and she's doing something new. She's 7 months old today. We're off to Babies R Us later to get her some new toys - she's really into the interactive toys.

Becky - I've never really breastfed but I understand that it's not uncommon for b/f babies to wake during the night. For some reason - not sure why - they need to eat more often.

Hi ladies! Jen what a great thread idea! I haven't read all the posts on here, but I haven't been posting since all of us on my old thread had our little ones! I didn't feel I really 'fit in' anywhere else.
My TR was 12/27/06 and Benjamin Josiah was born 10/20/07. We are (will be ) starting TTC as soon as DH is back from Iraq. 5 more months! He did get to be here for Benjamin's birth so we were thrilled about that!
As for Benjamin, he will be 10 months on the 20th and he is a bundle of energy! While DH was home on R & R he learned to crawl, pull up, cruise the furniture, and got 2 teeth..he is up to 6 now. He also learned to say Dada while DH was here! YAY!! The kids and I had worked and worked to get him to say it, but he didn't till his daddy was home!
I am breastfeeding (he's the first I have been able to nurse), and am wondering how you got all yours sleeping through the night?????? Benjamin still wakes up at a minimum 3 times a night...and he will not take a tippy...he wants a straw or a regular cup, which is fine, but I am wanting to wean him at a year. Not sure what to do about at night time. He is also very allergic to dairy products. So I am not really sure where or how to begin the weaning process.
Sorry for the long winded post! I sure didn't mean to hit you all up at once with it all!lol

Michelle - I'm so glad you got the childcare situation worked out. I know how much more of a stressor it is not knowing what you're going to do. Leaving them won't be easy but knowing that they're settled will make it easier.
Our project for the weekend is to lower Lydia's crib mattress. She's rolling all over the place and it won't be long before she's pulling herself up. I would hate for that to happen late at night or early one morning. So, to err on the side of caution we're putting it down low later today. Right now she's napping in it!
I hope you're all having a great weekend. I want to get Lydia to the park for her first time on the swings but it's been raining. It's supposed to get nice some time on Sunday so until then - we're chillin' at home!

Michelle-Sounds like things are working in your favor. It does take alot of stress off when you leave your little one with someone you know and trust. Good luck with everything!

ok guys... think we have this hemmed up... our neighbor three doors down (we live in townhomes) came over last week because she had mentioned being able to help with the babies before.. i asked her if she might be able to help on an emergency basis. I noticed for a long while, while I was pregnant that she avoided me like the plague, but talked to DH all teh time (I thought she had a crush on him). Come to find out, they have been TTC for a while, with no luck, so she was avoiding me and the babies to spare herself agony. We all know how that feels. We talked for a long while, and she offered to quit her night job stocking at Wal-Mart to care for the babies, as she works night shift so she is home for her 5 year old during the day and after school. We talked about it, and then met with another lady today and have decided to go with the neighbor, as she is 500 bucks less expensive than the other nanny and is only three doors down. She has a passion for children, and is so nice. She is 25 and jumped at the opportunity, in fact it was her idea. DH and I will be home 4 days a week working from home, adn she can work 4 hours those days, possibly splitting it up for naps, etc until the girls get home. Then, we need someone full day for Tuesdays, and she is happy to do that. I am so excited, but nervous, as leaving the babies with ANYONE is stressful.. but she is so close and can accomodate us, and we can afford her, and she is passionate about the babies, what with TTC and all.. I hope this works out... I feel good about it... I think this might work, and be an answer to prayers. I wish I could stay home, but with a mortgage and two car payments (not to mention credit cards), I gotta.
Whew.. sorry, had to get that out. We are heading to Babies R Us to stock up on bottles for when I go back to work. I love that store... How is everyone else doing? The babies did really well last night. Slowly but surely they are sleeping a tad longer. They have their two month shots this week.. ewww. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Jenn-I was in a dead-end job before the move. Believe me, we wieghed the pros and cons before making our decision. It ended up being more beneficial for us for me to stay home at this time.
Crecia-your lil man just amazes me! He will be up and walking around soon....he's sooo cute!

Crecia~ those are some incredible milestones! You must be worn out trying to keep up with your little man! Congratulations.
It's so nice to read through everyone's posts and see how all the new babies and mommies are doing. Our son, Nolan, was born on 3-22-08; after my TR 03/20/07. He seems to be right on track too. He's 19 lbs and 28 inches long, about 4 1/2 months old...rolls over and pushes himself when on his stomach; but I wouldn't call it crawling. He's not sitting up unsupported just yet; but never really gets the chance because everyone wants to be holding him...lol. He's my 5th baby; oldest is 19 and has two children himself. I enjoy reading about everyone's babies!!

Hello ladies how are you all and the babies? My Lil man always rolls over to his stomach when I lay him down. He has been doing that since he was three months old. He has been crawling at 4 months and he will be 5 months on the twelth but he is already pulling himself up to where he is standing. He seems to move very fast to me to only be 4 months old and doing so much.

I should add, even though I could stay home now we want to buy a house (we still rent) and that will be easier with two incomes...once we're in a house we'll re-evaluate to see if we can afford to stay home. Also, if we decide to have another one being able to stay home will have to be a condition. I can't do two and work...Michelle - I don't know how you'll do it. I know you will but wow...

I still put LG in her crib on her back but she immediately rolls over onto her side and sticks her blanket in her mouth. I always check on her before I go to bed and again when I wake up if she's skipped her 430 feeding.
DH just got a new job and I could be a SAHM. Part of me would love to but part of me doesn't want to let my career go completely. I'm in house counsel for a company which is a VERY good job. The pay and benefits are good but even better it's only 3/4 time right now. Hard not to stay. I also get to have lunch with LG every day, in fact I just got back from nursing her and spending time with her at the daycare.

LG sounds like Sev with the napping. Theres days I think he'll go down for 2 hrs and BAM after 30 min he is up again. Once he rolled over in his sleep I couldn't get him to lay on his back again. So, I would lay him on his side and he would do the rest. I still check on him once and awhile at night. My lil one, he's spoiled. Like my oldest son, I rocked them! So now a couple times a week Sev will wake in the middle of the night and expect me to rock him back to sleep. Hard not to when he says 'mama'. I need to get him use to going to bed on his own again. When we were moving we got out of the habit and with the hours DH puts in, I don't want to disturb him with Sevs cries (which can be very loud). Any input would be geat!
Michelle-I feel for you. bawled my eyes out the first day we took Sev to daycare (at 12wks). Luckily, with our recent move, I have been able to be a SAHM since mid-April. I am so loving it!! Money gets a little tight at times.
Sorry for rambling....its nap time!! Have a great day ladies
