Thank you so much for sharing your story about why you decided to join Dr. Berger at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center. I know that there will be many women and families that benefit from your decision. Rhonda

Dr. Monteith - Congratulations to you on finding a situation that fits your personal and professional goals so perfectly.
As a former patient of yours (and your former practice) I am finding it facinating to follow your professional journey. I so identify with all of your comments about the unfortunate role of politics, business, and litigation on the medical practice. I have been very fortunate through my past two pregnancies to have been, primarily, under the exceptional care of one of your former colleagues and will do anything to continue under his care when I become pregnant again - his support through my pregnancies, deliveries, thoughts of TR and a m/c since TR have been simply amazing. But, I do understand that there are some policy issues in the balance that will make it difficult for me to see him for future OB care - we've agreed to do what we can to work around the WMC issues (i.e. I'll have to go to the clinic)...but, I'd do anything as I feel the relationship I have with my doctor is so special in modern medical practice that I would simply be devestated if I could not continue under his care.
Thus, since I feel a bit crazy that I am so passionate about my physician (and to a degree, the practice in whole) it's so nice to hear that physicians find themselves contemplating the tensions presented by modern medical practice. I applaud you for finding a professional situation in which you felt you could do the most good.
I think you have found your place! What Dr. Berger did for me - I was afraid other women may not have been fortunate enough to have done for them - when the day came that Dr. Berger could no longer come do his work. I was glad for women when they announced your arrival. I hope you will be able to pass this on to the next generation!
Congratulations! I read you have experienced your first TR BFP!
Thank you for being the person you are. And thank your wife for sharing her husband with sooooo many women! She too is to be commended. We all know all too well - without her support, you couldn't be there for us!
