Linda- you saw from my posting the other day, gd diet is NOT bean soup diet lol. I eat more food now than ever before and it's Good stuff! Check out my sample diet I included for Anita the other day on the last thread.
Karen- typically you only need to see the endocrinologist if they will be treating with insulin. I'm fairly surprised that is your starting point- usually it's try to control w/ diet, then add glyburide once daily, then twice daily, THEN insulin. Keep us posted on what happens with the endocrinologist!

Linda - wow! I was measuring 32 weeks at 29-1/2 and my doc was concerned enough that she is going to do another ultrasound at 34-35 weeks to look at the size again...
you are measuring really far ahead... have they discussed taking your little one early?

wow, it sounds like we have some big babies coming into the world soon.
Linda, you are measuring very big. Even when I had the 9 pounder, they never said I was measuring big.
Karen, I have to take extra iron too. It's too bad yours got so low before they tested. I failed my first one hour too. Hopefully you won't fail the three hour test.
I met with the nutritionist and got my blood glucose monitor today. She was concerned because I have rebound hypoglycemia. When my sugars get too high, they turn around and crash too low, so I have to keep an eye on that. Now it's a wait and see game..... I just have to test four times a day, and see what pattern I follow. Hopefully diet will control it.

Ok so I heard from my doctor's office today and I am a bit discouraged to say the least. My test results from my glucose test came back not so good. For one, I told them at my first appointment that I was on iron and questioned if I should be taking extra iron on top of my vitamins and here we are months later and they are just telling me I am extremely anemic and to start taking iron 3 times a day. Also the glucose part of it came back elevated, so now I go in Tuesday for the 3 hour test... I am not sure what all this means. They wouldn't really say either way, they just said if the 3 hour comes back elevated as well than I will have to go see a endocronologist??? Not sure if thats right. I thought I would turn to you ladies to get your input....

Hello Ladies- Just returned from my appt and I only gained 1# in 3 weeks. But just about failed my 3-hr GDT so, I will be contacted by a diet specialist. That stinks since I already have been watching my diet. I am 27.5w and measured at 34 so he figures the baby is getting too big. BUT, I've always measured way ahead and at first he told me it was because of the many other PGs so who knows. I just can't stand the though of eating bean soup!!!! Take care, Linda

hey i started a new thread too before i saw this one . just ignore the other.i'm so slow! i went to the dr. this morning, i'm still gaining weight! i am going to have to live on the treadmill after the baby is born. dr. said he knew the baby would be well over 9 lbs. someone bought me preemie sized diapers i dont think i will need them! hope everyone is good talk to you later. jamie
