Hey all, I just wanted to post two raves- some happy news! First, Rowan slept 6 hours last night! I feel like a new woman, that is the most and best sleep I've had in MONTHS! Normally we are up every 1- 1 1/2 hours for nursing- whohoo! I may need to start setting an alarm to wake him up for feeds, depending what we find out at the docs tomorrow- but I'm just not going to worry about last night, I feel wonderful!
2nd rave- this is more of an awww, cute thing. After nursing and falling back to sleep this morning, Ro pulled off and went to sleep. A little trickle of milk spilled out of the corner of his mouth (as he gave a small "gassy" smile) and I just felt so good that I AM able to do this for him- not only can we make beautiful babies ladies, but we can nourish them too- what a wonderful, blessed feeling!
I hope you are all doing well today- and just remember that though you are perhaps uncomfortable now- it does get better and SOON! So So worth it! Love you ladies- Traci and Rowan

Amy, how frustrating. I thought too you'd be dilated a little more than that, but at least it's started. As far as the stopping at the closest hospital, I agree with you. It seems like it would waste valuable time. Plus, if they'd send the baby to a better equipped hospital, would you have to stay where you were, or could you go along? I wouldn't want to be seperated. Could you go in next week, complaining of bad pain, and get him to induce you?

Good afternoon ladies, update from dr.... I am dialated to a 1. yes only a one. I was atleast hoping for a two. I gained 5 pounds in two weeks and I am measuring 41 weeks. My blood pressure was up a little. I was having contractions while I was there so they hooked me up to do a NST. When that was over the nurse said baby looks good but looks like you are having some contractions, do you feel them? I just looked at her. I didn't know whether to slap her or laugh at her. The dr said my fluid is back up but wouldn't do another US til next week. Although its been a month since I had one. I was really looking forward to one today. He also said that since I live 45 minutes away from hospital that if my water breaks then he wants me to go to closest hospital to be checked. They are concerned about prolasped cord. He said for me to be checked out there then be transported to them. To me that is the dumbest thing I ever heard. I just know if I do that then I will end up having my baby at a band aid hospital and they will transport Isaiah to the big hospital where I plan on having him anyway. On the other hand, they also said they will not let me go over 39 weeks for baby's safety. They want to make sure that they have peds available for the delivery. It sounds like a double standard to me. I don't know what to think. I am crampy, having some contractions. He said I think you are in the begining stages of labor, duh...
Well it's raining here so no outside walking for me. I have no desire to take six kids to the mall to walk so I guess I will do nothing this evening... Yeah right!

LOL Bonnie, won't be long. I have my chore list going too. Everytime I get one thing marked off, I add two more, so I don't know if I'll get it finished today or not.
I haven't talked to the doctor yet about what she thinks about his size, but I had no problems with my youngest two, who were both a little bigger. The US tech siad they don't usually become concerned unless the US is showing he's 2-3 weeks ahead.
Anita- it sounds like your man is baking on the convection cycle too! Did they talk about taking him early or do they think you can handle birthing the big guy?
Okay ladies... the nesting is taking over. I've never had it like this with my other pregnancies! I got out of the shower this morning and felt compelled to scrub the bathroom's baseboards... Next, I washed the sheets (again). Then, I baked 5 dozen cookies to take to DH's office along with all the baby shower thank yous. And now the floors are driving me nuts... I want to scrub the tile. OMG, I am losing it! Bonnie

Becki, nope, no c-sections. And boys do have big heads. DD was 9lb 6 oz, and had her with no problems. DS was 8lb 6oz, and I swore the entire time his head was ripping me the whole way down. Now some might say it was the pitocin I had w/him causing this sensation, but that child had troubles getting shirts on over his head until he was 4.
I hope all the missing mommies let us know too.
Karen, you're right. It seems like I'm always in at the doctors office. Between the regular weekly visits, the weekly NSTs they sometimes can't get done on the same days, and the dietician for the GD, I am always running. And it's good she's being cautious, because two weeks is a long time if something happens to go wrong, God forbid. Be sure and keep in touch.
I haven't been here for awhile, but wow did I miss a lot of babies be born!! Congrats to all of you!! How amazing, I can't wait to join the other side with you all
Just a quick update on me. I am currently 30 weeks now, how exciting!! I just had my baby shower which went great, I am nearly all set for Natalie (yea I decided to go back to the normal spelling of her name haha) She is moving CONSTANTLY sometimes I wonder what the heck she is doing in there. It is so much fun watching my belly move though. Everyone officially is getting lucky and feeling her move now.
My doctor has me going weekly already!! With non stress tests weekly and bp taken weekly as well. And she doesn't want the NST and my appointments with u/s on the same days either, so its going to be a longggg winter lol. Things are still going good, with no problems or any signs of fluid but she wants to be safe. She said if something goes wrong, 2 weeks is a long time and she would rather catch it as fast as possible. I also had my consult with the high risk clinic and between that doctor and my doctor it sounds like they want me to deliver around a week before my due date....

ROTFL- A big head like his daddy Don't all boys and men have big heads??? (lol) I think your lil guy will be here for Halloween too... Buy that outfit for him too!!!! I can't remember do you have c-sections or not??? You know at 37 weeks you can try what I did and see if it send you in labor
I too LOVE the idea of the Halloween outfit for your birth announcement!!! CUTE Idea!!!!
I still need to do that- a birth announcement... I am a little behind!!!
I wish I would of had a flu shot while I was PG too.... Thing you just don't think of -- great thinking Anita!!!!
So think we will hear from Katrina when she has her baby???? I hope so, I love hearing about the births and seeing pictures!!!

oh. something else I wanted to mention to you ladies.
the fam and I went and got our flu shots yesterday. I wanted to lessen the chances of bringing that home to Ikey because the flu is very dangerous for little ones. I also heard on the news the other day that they believe the fetus gets some of the immunity if the mom gets the shot while she's pregnant. Since he wouldn't be able to get it until he is older, it makes me worry a little less.

Traci, that sounds like a very cute birth announcement too.
My US went well. He's head down. He's measuring a week ahead. All computer generated dates have his EDD as 10/27-29, except for his head measurement which has the EDD as 10/23. Figures....big head like his dad. They have his weight as 6lbs 9oz at 35wk5d

Bonnie- I love that idea for a costume/ birth announcement! We have a cute monster costume from where the wild things are, and may make announcements about our little monster's arrival! lol I think it's cute anyway!
Amy, not much longer now! Sounds like you are so ready for Isaiah!
Anita, can't wait to hear your size US results! And to see how accurate it is! Rowan was measured as 6 12 at 35 weeks, and was born at 37 weeks 1 day at 8 6. They say babies gain half an ounce a day at the end- so that would have put him at 7 9. So nearly 13 oz. off- not too bad of an estimate!
Small update for Rowan- the nursing interruption seemed to help with his billirubin levels- they went down- yeah! We won't see the doc again until Friday- I'm so hoping he'll put on a few ounces at least! Thank you all so much for your support- babes cause aus to worry so much sometimes- and I'm not typically a worrier! -Traci and Rowan
Last night I had some moderate spotting and I freaked out only to hear back from the doctor that it was normal after an exam in late pregnancy... Never had that happen with my other ones... Anybody else have anything like that happen before?
Traci- I'm hoping your little guy starts doing better with the weight gain... and that you'll feel better soon too. It's so hard when we worry about our little ones!
Becki- I painted the name picture. And yes, I will have to get a little Halloween outfit. My other daughter is going to be an elf for Halloween, so we thought about just getting a red or green sleeper for the baby and tying a big bow around her like a present... lol. It might make for a cute picture for the baby announcements...

good morning, checking in on everyone. still hanging in there, dr appointment at 10:00 tomorrow so we will see. two girls have important dentist appointments today at noon so I am praying that is why Isaiah is holding off making an appearance. As far as I am concerned tonight would be a great night to have a baby!!!
Traci, just wondering how Rowan is doing today. Praying for good news. I had same issues with Elijah and spent 5 days in the hospital. After bringing him home for 2 days first. I am so there with you about the whole hormaonal an demotional thing. I cried everyday for months at the drop of a hat after he was born. Give his little feet an extra kiss for me.
