Well Ladies -- I've made it to week 23!! I also feel way more aches and pains, but I've chalked it up to being MUCH older this time around (17 years older since the last one) The one thing that seems to really strike me is my fatigue! I'm up for an hour and then I'm ready for a nap!
Baby has been moving all around this morning! Hard to concentrate on work when I just want to sit and enjoy the movements.

Congrats Jennifer!!! christbride...I am definatly having more aches and pains this pregnancy than any of my other three. I asked the doctor the same thing and she said round ligament pain. Sometimes it has me doubled over...I also seem to have cramps and backaches alot...she said this was also normal. I never remember having cramps during pregnancy before...but same thing baby is fine. I hope you feel better soon...I never heard of growing contractions before?? Michelle
spent all of yesterday in dr. appt after doctor appointment. my doctor said something i thought was so ridiculous. i have been have really bad pain (and i am a good conductor or pain) for the last week. i mean like stop you in your track pain. when they did the level 2 ultrasound and i was having the pains, the tech said i was having a contraction. so i finally go to the doctor, not what i wanted to do and he tells me that i am having "growing contractions". i never heard of such a thing in my life and i have two kids. i am not dialated and my cervix is closed and high, so that was good. baby and vitals all good. but i don't know why i am having these pains. is anyone else having more pain this time than with any of the other pregnancies?

Time to add another girl.... I got preliminary results from the CVS that say a girl. They are testing that DNA against mine to make sure it is the babys DNA that they are looking at and not mine. She said that in her mind it is a girl. Like 98% but they are still testing to make sure. I thought I would let you all know.

Michelle I notice if I dont' drink enough I get ravenously thirsty. I try to have somthing to drink with me at all times. So sorry you got sick that had to be horrible... I don't eat out much, after making sandwiches where I work and seeing the cooler is set at 45 degrees, well it's a REAL turn off. I'm so afraid of getting sick.
Lullabye, see that's what they called my DD all the way through. Threatened miscarriage, it's even worse when some of it said threatened abortion.... I hate those words!!! But they were just words Just relax and take it easy it sounds like what I had going on. All you can do is rest and hope your body just absorbs it or it stays put and gives no more trouble. The resting will help the placenta take a good strong hold, that's what you need, that's what I needed. Lots of protein and vitamins in the diet you'll be fine. Do not worry!!!!!
Christbride that's what I think, my DH says it's a boy because it was looking at my butt LOL typical man comment.... We'll see. I much prefer it's a girl being modest
Next Thursday we'll get a look and hopefully SHE will show herself.

Hello everyone...April I wish I could help but I do not have a dopplar..I figured I would just drive myself nuts with it...but the other ladies have great advice! How is everyone feeling? I got food poisoning on Monday after eating a salad at the mall and was so sick....I had to go into the docs office yesterday for some IV fluid because I was so dehydrated and having bad cramping...they said at this point in our pregn ancies if you get to dehydrated it can start preterm labor. Very scary thought so I listend like a good girl and went in....I do feel so much better though. I'll tell you I have no luck!!! I hope you all have a great day!

April -- As Christbride said, make sure you are using u/s gel and start a few inches below your belly button working your way all over your lower abdomen area...go slowly. It took me about 10 minutes to find the heartbeat the first time when I was about 16 weeks and my monitor is a 2 mghz version.
Be patient and listen for subtle changes as you're moving it around. If you're still having trouble, maybe you can bring it to your doctor's and they can help you with it. Does yours have a display showing the beats per minute? Mine does and it was a great way to see before I actually heard sometimes

do you have the ultrasound gel? if not, you need it to hear. be generous with it. and i have to put the monitor in the middle between the pelvic bone, way down low. hth.

Ladies I need your help. I ordered a fetal heart doppler off ebay, it is 2.5mhz, and the one in the Dr. office was 3mhz, and I tried and tried this morning before I had to go to work and could not find the heart beat now I am very worried. I am going to try again when I go home for lunch. I am 15 weeks and 1 day, shouldn't I be able to find it? Thank you for your input.
