Marilyn,
It is not uncommon right after surgery to have an irregular cycle, but make sure that you are not pregnant with a home pregnancy test.

Cati,

The best thing to do is make an appt. with your local ob-gyn. They will give you information and suggestions that can help you regulate your cycle. Hope this helps !

Cati, I have longer cycles as well, but I always have. Were you always longer before TR or is this only after TR? It really depends on why your cycles are long and there really may not be a problem - other than having to wait a week longer than everyone else, which sucks. You really need to get to know your cycles. I would suggest trying both BBT and OPKs. The OPKs will help you narrow down exactly when you ovulate and charting your BBTs help you determine the regularity of your cycles. If your hormone levels are regular and normal you should see regular dips and shifts in your basal temperature and then they should stay up after ovulation until AF arrives when they dip again. By charting these and using OPKs you can determine if you are ovulating, when, and if you may have a progesterone issue which could make your luteal phase (time between ovulation and AF) too long or too short. As for OPKs, if your cycles are 35-40 days you should start using OPKs about CD 15, assuming you are ovulating around CD 20-25. You can start sooner if you are worried you may miss it, but if you haven't had any cycles less than 35 days, you probably won't. It is also possible that you may be having such long cycles because you aren't ovulating since the m/c, which is something that charting your BBTs can tell you as well. I'm sorry this is so much information, but sometimes we can learn alot about our own bodies and fertility just by watching the signs.

I know all of this sounds overwhelming, but it is quite simple and only takes a few minutes a day. Just take it one day at a time and you'll be glad you did!

OPKs might could help you, but you may have to use more than one kit per month to find your surge since your cycles are longer than 28 days.

I had my TR Oct 15th and have healed wonderfully. Got a BFP then had a M/C soon after. My periods are very irregular. 35-40 days. Should I get on something from my regular OB to help me be more regular. Does Clomid help that? I want to get pregnant again but OPK's dont help me when I dont even know my cycles. Any help would be great!
