Hey Ladies! I'm glad to see everyone being active on the boards! Nicholas is getting ready to turn 6 months next week!! I still can't believe it..he's such a sweetie! I'm still BF'ing and that is going great so far..we've started some solids (rice cereal and just the other day...bananas!) and he's getting use to it [Smile] I said if I made it 6 months BF'ing, I'd consider it a HUGE accomplishment...now I'd like to make it a year but we'll see how it goes [Smile]

I'd consider having another one, but I wouldn't want to wait too long...I'm 40 so I feel like I'm running out of time [Smile] My husband is on the fence so I guess we'll see what happens. I'm officially back to my pre-preg weight (YEAH!) and now I'm working on the 20 lbs I was trying to lose before I got pregnant [Smile]

Well, off to look at the pics and then I'm going to bed...it's been a LONG weekend/week so far!

Take Care!...Tia

Great to hear from you Jennifer! I hope Tierney recovers well from the Strep, and that you find out what is going on. She sounds like she's doing great otherwise! How wonderful!

April,

Yes, it's always good to give your body a chance to fully recover and get healthy again before another pregnancy. My 2nd and 3rd children are just over 12 months apart. While it was busy when they were very small, it was wonderful! I have some of the fondest memories with those two being little best friends.

I am sure my daytime nursing will be enough to suppress my ovulation for as long as my body needs it. He goes so long at night and has for sometime....Once it's "ready" it will ovulate again. I hope it takes a few months, but I wouldn't be upset with another right now. I am so incredibly in love with Henry, and now that we have the newborn "kinks" worked out, its just amazing.

Anyway, hope you are all having a great day. Dh and I are going to attempt a date night tonight..last time my mom called us home right before we paid at the amusement park because lil' sweetie booby boy wouldn't take the bottle of breastmilk, LOL!

God Bless,

Andrea

I got my period two months after having Madi, In June it was only 2 days, didn't get it in July, took test negative, was 15days late, than got it in August and lasted a week, not sure what happened, but hopping it is back to normal now. My dr. doesn't want me to have anymore due to the c-sections, but he said if I do, than atleast wait a year to give your body time to heal. So that is our plan! But right now I am not ready for another baby or to be pregnant. I am so happy with Madi and content just watching her grow and loving her and my other kids. Hope you all have a good week!

I thought I would get on and see how everyone is doing. I have been so buisy with my kids. Tierney had a positive strep test and scarlett fever the day she turned 5 weeks old. Now she is 3 1/2 months and tested positive for strep again. I am not sure what is going on so once she is done with the meds they are going to do some tests on her. We will have to see how it goes.

She is a wonderful baby. She is 13 lbs even now and over 24 inces long. She is an awesome sleeper. At 8 weeks she started sleeping all night. I mean ALL night. She goes down around 8pm and I dont hear from her until 7 am the next morning. It is great. She is a breastfeeding champ. I actually make more than she can eat so I pump the extra and donate it threw a yahoo group called Milkshare. There is a mom in another state that I ship it to for her baby. I have been a milk mama to 3 different babies. I love doing what I can to help those that dont make enough for there babies. Anyway we have been doing pretty good other than the strep. Talk to you ladies later and I am glad to see all the updates.

That's great, April! She's growing well!

Henry will be 11 weeks this week...sheesh! I weighed him nekked this weekend (all the better to pinch the baby biscuit buns) and he was 13 lbs 1 oz. He's pretty long. At 2 months the doctor measured him at 24", and I think he's grown more. He's wearing 3-6 months, and I'm just waiting for the weather to change so I can buy him some more things that fit. It was cold most of last week and he had to wear jammies, because the season/sizes were off, LOL!

How are all the little ones doing? How about the mamas? Any bf'ing mom's get their AF back again? I've had lots of cramps and spotting, so thinking things are changing again.

Hope you are all well!

April, that's so great you breastfed that long! We do what we can, right? Don't feel bad about her being more content now. We try to breastfeed, and often we are bombarded with pressure to MAKE IT WORK..and I think that is so powerful it can actually make us keep pushing for it when it isn't the best situation for us and baby...it's cool that you still are doing it at night, too...anyway, glad she is doing well! She's just precious!

Have a great day!

Thank you Andrea, my children are loving on her so much, it is wonderful to watch them with her. I had to start suplamenting with formula last week. I was not producing enough milk. With my other children I had dried up by the time they were 3 months old. So I made it alittle farther this time! And I am still breast feeding at night! All last week she was so craby and just cried, now she is a very happy baby again. I feel bad I didn't realize it sooner. But all is good now! Hope you all enjoy these last couple of weeks of summer, before school starts!

April,

She's just so adorable! I bet your kids are just loving her..

We would like to have more children. I don't mind if it happens right away, or if it takes a while. We aren't "using" anything, but I'm exclusively breastfeeding. So, it's just a guess without a regular cycle!

I'm so happy that the ladies here are keeping in touch. I hope the other Spring mamas will post updates, too!

God Bless,

Andrea

5 months is good. i am going to see how the next 6 months go financially and we will see if another baby is in the cards. childcare is extremely expensive so having two in daycare is not an option. i would have to stop working, which i would love to do. don't know if my dh would feel the same.

Thank you Christbride!!! I am thinking that for the next 5 months I am gonna work really hard on loosing 50lbs. Than I think we will try for 1 more since there is such a age differance between Madi and the rest of the children!
