what should ur progesterone level be ? and does it go up when u get preg? I am 6dpo and mine is 27.5...Is that good and does it mean anything? Kinda confused any input would me great.thank you : )

Wannabemom...I just wanted to let you know that I had my tonsils out last May....in June my throat opened up and I needed a second surgery...little did I know I was probably about 2-3 weeks pregnant! I took a test the last week of June and it was positive..... My little girl was born January 30th of this yea...she was about 6 weeks early due to my high blood pressure but other than that she is perfect...I had spotting andbleeding on and off for the first trimester but again everything was fine...I hope your situation turns out ok. I know its hard to wait...I was a nervous wreck waiting for the u/s not only to see if my bean was in utero but was so worried about all the anesthesia and pain meds I was on! Hang in there! Michelle

Lori-Ann, I hope you see a HB on your next US. I'm so glad you aren't giving up. Sometimes I want to yell at my computer..."Don't do anything yet!". I think some doctors give up too early, and I wish they ladies would wait if they aren't having any pain.

Nancy, I will keeping you in my thoughts. I will send an update tomorrow late afternoon. My appt is at 1pm, which I was told to allow at least 2 hours - time for another physical exams (still showing no signs of mc), blood work, US and a meeting with the doctor after all of that is done... so... wannabeamom - I was told the SAME thing - stop the progesterone and to expect to miscarry. I have a HISTORY of miscarriage - I show no signs so I refuse to give up on this pregnancy just because they didn't see a HB on the US at 6 weeks. I have continued the progesterone and found another doctor who I saw yesterday. He upped my dosage of progesterone and told me that it was possible not to see a HB until 8 weeks so we would look on Monday and if we didn't see anything but my levels continued to rise, we would wait another week and look again. DON'T GIVE UP!!! Many hugs, ~Lori-Ann

Hi wannabeamom, There is another thread going "Need some words of support" started by LAinGA. She has also had low progesterone readings and has gotten some great advice from the other ladies and actually changed Drs. Good luck...I hope all is well!

I was told by my doctor with this pregnancy, that once you see a baby and heartbeat the HCG doesn't really matter. BUT, your saying you didn't see a heartbeat??? Definately have another ultrasound.

once ur hcg levels get that high they do not always have to double. thats why it is said that at 1500 u should see a sac and a week or so later a fetal pole. after that there technically is no reason to get hcg levels drawn. if it is not doubling is not a clear indication of a MC. take it easy wait a couple days to a week and get another US. also i would recommended supp. or PIO. i was on pio and my proges. was at 300 when i was 7 weeks. I was on b/c also when I got pregnant with my first son. That was due to antibiotics I was on for bronchitis. But I don't think its the b/c that was as much of a concern as the meds for surgery. I hope things still work out for you. KUP!
