I was on Birth Control Pills when my oldest was conceived....he was a twin. In my case B/C was prescribed along with anti-depressants....they killl one another....I've also read that anti-biotics kill B/C and so does certain over the counter drugs.
I tell you this becuase this B/C child is now 18....I took the B/C for about 9 weeks gestation... He is fine...

That's terrible - I'm sorry to hear that. But at 3 weeks a hpt and even a blood test probably would have been negative, so there was no way of knowing. That was probably right around implantation, so maybe it didn't have a chance to affect the embryo. I hope they can get you in for an u/s tomorrow and check to see what it looks like. Good luck!

i was on the "mini pill" to help with painful cramps and migraines. wasn't trying to get pregnant at this time. i had surgery when i was 3 weeks pregnant and didn't know it. They didn't do a HCG before surgery because they had my history wrong...they only had a tubal ligation listed and not the reversal...so they didn't bother testing...and now the poss. of a M/C is great due to the anesthesia that i recieved.

so you were on birth control when you got pregnant or you are on it now? Actually I'm suprised they are still doing hcg bloodwork. Usually once they see it the sac in the uterus they don't do anymore. You should probably be able to see a heartbeat anyday, ask for another u/s. Good luck!

i am 6w3d..they did an US last week. just because I was on birth control (for now) and just had a bladder sling 3 weeks ago. My 1st TR baby was 2yr in April. They saw a sac and a fetal pole but it was too soon to see a heartbeat.

How far along are you? That might make a difference. I think at a certain point they don't double. I have not had experience with the blood work yet. I just wanted to respond so you would not get discouraged. Others on here are so good about knowing exactly about the BW. I am sure they will respond and be able to answer. Congrats! Heather
