I stayed an extra day, like Amber I felt like I did too much. I had to walk a long ways between terminals. But the meds helped me feel pain free, it was later when the meds wore off that I felt like i did way too much. I preboarded also and did not have to show anything. I just let them know I had abdominal surgery and it probably was apparant cause I was walking a little funny and my belly was huge. i didnt carry anything heavy. DH even carried my purse, love him!!!

I flew home the day after surgery with a layover in Chicago, I felt fine on the trip, but not too hot the next day after I got home. I think my body needed more down time....just because I felt okay during the trip doesn't mean my body was ready to be moving around so much. Hopefully the nonstop flight will help...take the meds they give you.

Although everyone recovers from surgery at a different rate, the majority of the women who have tubal reversal surgery are able to fly the day after their procedure. Based on a pain score of 0 - 10 (with zero meaning no pain and 10 the worst imaginable), tubal reversal patients at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center report an average pain score of 2.3 on the day following surgery. Hope that helps! Lori RN

I agree with Lisa. We flew out to Omaha, with a layover in Detroit, and we asked to preboard. We did not need to show the airline anytihng. I told them I had abdominal surgery, and they were very understanding. I had quite a bit of swelling in my legs and ankles, but that was gone within a week. Just keep up on the meds.

I flew out to Seattle the day after TR. Just make sure you take your meds as directed. I did just fine, Dh asked if we could board first and it totally helped. Don't carry anything, let Dh do it.My first flight was about 2 hours; we had a 1 hr lay over and our second flight was a little 4 hrs. Meds, Meds, Meds. HTH & Gl Lisa
