Mrs R - click on the Pregnancy Statistics link at the bottom of the page and read that page and the next one. It shows all pregnancies and includes miscarriages and ectopics as well as deliveries. There is no doubt in my mind that CHTRC is the only place that actually cares enough to follow up and find out what the results are of their tubal reversals.

I did research for over 3 years. I am a lucky one. My OB was on my side and he was the doctor that did the TL. He told me if I wanted a TR to go to the doctor that is the best. He told me to look into DR.B because he only did TR and had for for years. He also gave me another name. After we looked into it Dr.B had done more TR's and the way he did it was better than the other. I wish you all the best. Miranda

MrsR, We did some research for about 6 months on Tr's. We live in Texas and we were trying to stick with someone here in our own state. We have a dr here who has done a TR b4 lol, and we thought at the time his cost was actually good. it was 1500 not including any hosp stuff plus a week in hosp. lol. however he did maybe 1 a yr. we found a few in Dallas and Houston Texas but again they were not real experienced either, they didnt do a lot of them. we found Dr B and we really didnt have to think much about it... it was a drive and it was the tr surgery plus cost of driving and all but with how many he does a day we knew we would be in great hands... (the price was actually not that bad either and the fact that I didnt have to stay in a hosp was the greatest lol.) we had our surgery june 2001 and our 1st tr baby was born 11/2003 . we got the iud after him thinking that was prob it for us. but we got the iud out in 8-2008 and 6 months later we were preg with out 2nd tr baby which is on its way due in 11-09 best of wishes!

MrsR I had my TR at CHTRC for two reasons. First, like what everyone else said that's all they do, and if they weren't good at it they wouldn't still be in business. Second, I had been researching have a TR for a long time. I just wasn't ready to commit to it but it was always in the back of my mind. When DH and I finally decided that we really weren't done having children we went to an RE to see what our real options were. He sat us down at the consultation, and keep in mind all he does is IVF for the most part, and he told us that our best way to go was to have a TR he said that the only person he would recommend do it was Dr. Berger. Even though there are dr's here in Atlanta that do this, he told me to go to CHTRC. That sealed the deal right there. Obviously for me it has been wildly successful as I had my TR in June of 2007 and am now pg with TR baby #2.
Good luck on your journey and if you do choose CH know that you will be in the best of hands.

Thanks for all the responses ladies. I have researched many doctors and still doing my research. I have been wanting a TR since i had my TL done in 2005. But really have be drawn to wanting one even more and started my research about a year ago. I looked a few times before that but not as serious as i have in the past year. I hope you all end up with that speacial blessing you so much long for.
Snowgirloo7 Congrats on your pregnancy and hope you have a H&H 9 months and carry them twins as ong as you can!
I too researched many facilities, including my own OB/GYN who proudly advertised he performed TR's. After meeting with him, I asked how many procedures he had performed and in 3 years only 10! I then asked how many of them had babies, and the answer was so far 0, so I quickly marked him off my list...still will use him for my Dr. but did tell him we decided to go to CHTRC for this procedure because of their expertise.
The primary things that led us to CHTRC was all the positive feedback on the web about them, their rates are very competitive, their experience is beats all the competition, they perform only TR's so that is their specialty, it is on an outpatient basis(which is wonderful)...I could go on and on but think you get the idea. We chose Dr. Monteith to perform our procedure and many might think we chose him because he is a little cheaper than Dr. Berger but honestly we chose Dr. Monteith because he is newer in the field and was trained and mentored by Dr. Berger so for some reason I felt maybe he might be as good, or possibly even better than Dr. Berger. He has to perform procedures on someone and we felt our chances were as good or higher than they would be with Dr. Berger. Not to take anything away from Dr. Berger because I only hear wonderful things about him as well, but for some reason we were drawn to Dr. Monteith and it was not just because of the financial aspect. The facility is wonderful, they take excellent care of you from the time you make the first phone call or send the first email until well after your procedure.
I just had my TR on 6/23, so obviously no BFP yet but I can tell you the incision couldn't look better even if it would have been closed up by a plastic surgeon! The pain for me was very, very minimal...never used the vicodin at all! Now, I do realize that is different for everyone...I was very lucky. Even if I never have a BFP, we will never regret our decision to go to CHTRC because we believe our best chance came from there.

I chose CHTRC because of price and it was the only thing they did. I could not be happier that it is the place I chose. They treated me wonderful. I am not pregnant yet but I feel my surgery was a success. I feel better about myself anyway. PTLS is gone and the girl who was there the same day as me was pregnant almost immediately.Considering it was surgery, it was a wonderful experience. I wish you the best of luck. Patient care is outstanding.

If you go to the "Pregnancy Statistics" section and scroll to the bottom of the page, there is a section called "Pregnancy Outcomes". There you will find all of the outcomes of all the pregnancies reported. As of 2007, there had been over 1300 babies born because of Dr. Berger. I think this is an amazing number!
As for how I knew, I researched all of the other tubal reversal sites - even a couple much closer to me. Everytime I looked into somewhere else, I found myself comparing them to CHTRC. Nothing compared. God led me back to Chapel Hill over and over. There is nowhere else like it! I had my TR on 3/12/09 and am currently 8wks pregnant! Best of luck on your journey!

I also checked out several places. And much like Anita decided to go here. I told my hubby "if you have brain surgery, do you see the dr. that does it 30 times a year, along with other types of surgery or do you see the dr. that all he does is brain surgery..day in, day out and sees a variety of situations?" Another thing that made me go with CH was how open they were with information. I called one clinic that did not want to disclose rally anything to me until I came in for a consult (which costed money of corse) That was a huge red flag! I had my reversal 5/4/09 and have no regrets or a negative thing to say about the experience. The procedure was great and the people were wonderful! Good luck to you in your journey!

As for me, I did a lot of research on TLs. I called different clinics and the biggest deciding factor was that the other places did considerably fewer TRs than CH. They also did not keep any sort of statistics past the surgery. My thought was the more you did the better skilled you would be.
I believe CH includes all BFPs in their statistics. A pregnancy means the TR was successful and the sperm and egg were able to meet, even those that do not go full term.
We tried for over two years but never got a BFP. W/ IVF, we were able to have a son after being diagnosed w/unexplained infertility. When he was 3 months old, I surprisingly got my first BFP, but it wasn't a keeper unfortunately. I hope to get another soon!

How did you know this was the right doctor? Do they post statics of when a woman reports a pregnancy than has a miscarriage or do they delete that off since it wasn't a successful pregnancy? I'm just a little worried and confused about finding the right doctor. I want to make sure everything is correct and that i have the best chance TTC again.
There are many doctors i have found that performs this surgery. But as i said i am just taken it slow and taken my time before deciding which i doctor i chose and make my decision wisely. I would like to hear from other people their journey and what made you chose the doctor that you chose? Do you think you made the right decision? How long have you been TTC? Was your pregnancy successful?
I would love to hear from the nurses or doctors on here about the statics. How you figure them? Do you include miscarriages? Do you include weather the pregnancy goes to term or not? Sorry for the book i'm just trying to learn more and make the decision for DH and I. Praying you all get the blessing you long for.
