babyranger7 from all I have read and talking to the doctors your open tube should still be open. If it is going to close it does so in the healing. Now if you have had an EP or some other surgery in the same area that could change things. I wish you all the best. Miranda

I had my HSG test done in Feb of this year and one side he was sure was open the other side he didnt say it was closed but he wasnt sure it was open. Can the open one have closed up since then and should I test again? Or should it still be good. I O on the side that is open almost every time.I have had two IUIs, tons of drugs and etc nothing is working This month I am oing on the side that may be closed or maybe they were wrong and this is the side that is open. : )

I decided to have mine done earlier because we have met our deductible on our insurance for the year. It would have cost more after the first of the year. I had my TR on 6/4/09, my HSG 10/20 (if I remember the date right), and then I got pregnant that cycle. I am miscarrying right now but at least I know I can get pregnant.

camillenesler Dr.B at CHTRC makes sure our tubs are open when he does the TR too. But, you need to know that the blocked tubes come from the healing after surgery. It is mostly from scar tissue that forms as you heal in the weeks after surgery. So the test done at the time of surgery can not tell you how things are after you have healed. That is why ladies choice sometimes to have a HSG done ot make sure their tubes are still open. And the test are close in the way they are done. I wish you all the best. Miranda

I had my tubal reversal done two months ago, by a physician in Little Rock, AR. He told me when I woke up from surgery that he had performed the "dye" test and that my tubes were completely open... Is that the same thing as a hysterosalpingogram or HSG test ? Isn't it the procedure to do that during the surgery to make sure it was a success??

We recommend you wait for at least 6 to 12 months after a tubal reversal procedure for this test of tubal patency. An HSG carries a risk of infection and often does not give conclusive results. It is best to give yourself a chance to become pregnant rather than rushing to have an HSG test . Most patients conceive within this time frame and will avoid the need for an unnecessary and possibly misleading or harmful procedure.

Hi Debra, I think most ladies try to have it done around the 6 month mark and yes it does seem to result in alot of ladies getting thier BFP that cycle. Im considering going ahead and getting mine. My TR surgery was 2-9-09. HTH

Does anyone know how long you should wait til you have a HSG test done? I had my TR 2/13/09 and I see that some women have had theirs done as little as 3 months after tubal reversal . I thought Dr. Berger said wait at least 6mths. I also see that many ladies get BFP's after having it done. Does it clear out your tubes? Any info is helpful. Thanks, Debra
