None of that. I had asked about a Progesterone level and he said that I didn't need it done. He did tell me that after this month though if I was not pregnant that I would need to go for a Hysterosalpingogram but I really think that it is just the timing of my job and all. Or maybe I am hoping for the best in thinking that it is just the timing.

DR, do some research on google. Everyone has different reactions to drugs. Did your doctor do a 7dpo progesterone blood level? Are you having U/S to monitor your follies and see how it's working for you?

How is that??? My doctor gave it to me to "force" (as he puts it) ovulation even though I ovulate on my own. I have also read on the Internet lots of other women whose docs have done this so that is why I thought nothing of it. Also, I work with OB/GYN docs and they all know that I already ovulate and they all know that I am on Clomid, and not one has told me that. I am curious to know where this info is from as I would like to investigate further.

I read a lot about clomid however I have never taken it myself. The one thing that shocked me is that if a woman is not having problems ovulating and use clomid that the clomid can actually hinder the chance of conceiving.

I did 6 rounds of clomid and AF was never late unless we were pregnant. Every woman is different.

Given that you are in the DR I'm not sure it's available but have you talked to your doctor about doing a midcycle ultrasound and trigger shot? I know that this helped me to better predict exactly when I would ovulate.

Also, there is a huge amount of information on clomid online - if you're concerned that your doctor isn't giving you all the information you need you could try searching. I tend to do a fair amount of research even though I feel like my doctor gives me all the info I need. I like to double check ;-) Of course, the danger is that not everything you read online is true.

Sorry to hear you're so frustrated.

On average, clomid causes AF to arrive a little later. It is usually prescribed CD3-7 if the doctor feels it would benefit you to produce more eggs. When used CD 5-9, it helps the eggs mature. I'm sure it's very hard to schedule Bding when you are far away from each other.

I got my period today but I am sure that it was the Clomid because I am doing nothing different and I tracked my periods for a year even before I had the TR and I was never more than 29 days and that only happened twice. Usually I am 28 days exactly. So today is 32 days which is not me. So now I am debating if I should take the Clomid CD3-7 like the first cycle or CD5-9 like I did the second cycle. I will call my doc here but he usually just does whatever I want him to do. I have heard that the earlier that you take it, the earlier you willovulate. Before I left work (NYC) on Tuesday one of the OB/GYNs that I work with told me to take it CD2-6. Because of my job I guess I have alot of docs!! I am hoping that this is the month because I am getting too stressed out. And I cannot speak about it with my SO (Significant Other) as he has no idea that I ever had a Tubal to be reversed in the first place!

I am only on my 2nd cycle using clomid but my 1st cycle my period actually started 1 day early. I am normally a 27 day cycle person but last month it was only 26. I am sorry you are going through this. I know the side affects are different for everyone.

Thanks so much. He only told me about a few of the side effects. The docs here aren't like our docs at home. Well, I have decided that if my ovulation time comes when I am supposed to be in NYC I will have to call out and do my best this month. Then if it doesn't happen, I don't know. Since I am an L&D RN, I get alot of extraneous advice from the docs I work with and they think that it is the timing. But one thing they all do not agree one is how often to BD at ovulation time. Some say every other day to give the sperm time to have better potency and others say that that is a load of crap and that I should be BDing every day 2-3 days after the last Clomid pill until at least CD18...thats ALOT!

This is my 4th round with clomid and last time my period was 6 days late and before that it was 3 so it is hard to say everyone is different

Hope you have good luck soon

I'm suprised they didn't give you any information about Clomid, and it's effects. I've never taken it personally, but I know it seems to affect everyone quite differently. You are suppose to be monitored while your taking the drug, are they checking your follicles or levels?

Hopefully some Clomid ladies will jump on and offer you some help.

Good luck.

I am very upset because no one told me that Clomid can delay periods. I had a TR on 7/15/09. I have 3 children and have never had a problem getting pregnant. I live out of the country in the Dominican Republic with my children and my new partner. My MD here put me on Clomid just to "force" the ovulation, and so I accepted that. I work in NYC so I am traveling quite a bit (twice per month). So after this seceond failure this month, I realized that my timing was not good as I was ovulating right when I was leaving NYC and by the time I got to DR I think that even though we BD'd like crazy, we had already missed the chance. (Also, I wasted alot of time with those Answer OPKs...which are a piece of crap. A MD that I work with told me to get Clearblue Easy and I did and I peed in a cup and used the SAME URINE and tested with the Answer and the Clearblue easy, getting NEG with the Answer and a BIG FAT POS with the CE...the next day I had Ovulation pain so bad that I was crying). So even though I left NYC on the next plane out when the CE test was POS (costing me $350 plus a lost day of work, I think that we missed that chance also.
So what I did was changed my schedule at work so that I am here in the DR when I am ovulating (Or should be ovulating. It took alot for me to change the schedule and it's very stressful as I have to change plane tickets and all which costs money. So anyway, since the NEG Beta HCG, I changed my schedule to be home when I am supposed to ovulate, based on my period coming on last Sunday (My periods have ALWAYS ALWAYS been 28-29 days), now it still hasn't come and it is Wednesday. I mean no cramps no NOTHING. If it comes a week late, then I will be taking the CLomid a week late, which will make me ovulate a week late which will put me right OPPOSITE of what I changed my schedule to, and I know my manager is NOT going to change it again. Why don't MDs tell you that Clomid can cause delayed periods, and how long is the delay? This is ridiculous, and I am soooo mad.
Thank you for listening.
