I agree with all the advice so far. It has been quite cold here already but in North Carolina you never know! There's a saying; "If you don't like the weather in NC wait an hour". So I would try to have one warm and one cool outfit. Dresses do seem to work well following surgery and I love the scrub pants idea. Always a good idea to assume you will have some bloating after TR surgery and especially if you will be flying. Let us know if you have any more questions. Lyndi

I live 45 min from chapel hill in raleigh. Last dec got warm,in the 70s right at xmass time. It was a fluke though. Its usally in the 50s to 60s. More so 60s in the day and cooler at night. I wore sweats for my tr and that was in may 09. Dress comfy, I felt bloated for at least a wk afterward. Good luck!!

I just went on Oct 5th this year. I wore excercise pants that have a drawstring in them. As my bloating decreased over the week it was nice to be able to tighten them. I also wore a skirt with a stretchy large banded waist.

Hi I live in NC about 3 hours from CH.It is all ready getting cold this year. I would go with sweatpants. For me after surgery I loved the yoga pants and pj bottoms. Would a nice looking yoga outfit look right for the volleyball event or is this a dress up thing like a dinner. If it is a dinner or you just want to look better I liked my flowing dresses. Some places now have comfy pants suits that you may like. I wish you all the best. Miranda

I had my TR last November. It was cold but not freezing. I wore "cute" sweatpants. They were sort of dressy but comfy. Also, if you wear big panties it will be more comfortable than the low rise ones because your incision is just over the pubic bone. I know you are excited! It is a great experience for sure..

I'm hoping to schedule my TR for the middle of December.
We are hoping to have the surgery on a Monday and then we will be flying to Tampa for a Volleyball convention for a week. (I'll mostly be staying at the hotel resting while my husband is at the convention) What type of weather can we expect , and what would be appropriate clothes to pack. Since we are coming from Wisconsin it will be (already is!) very cold here so I'll probably need to buy some lighter clothes. I have lots of summer clothes but not many with stretchy waist bands. I remember when I had my TL I was very bloated for a week so I'm pretty sure my normal pants aren't going to fit me after the surgery.
I will be going out to a couple volleyball events with my husband so I can't live in pajama bottoms like I would like, so any suggestions?
