Thank you Anita, I will talk to her more about this. The only monitoring she did was take my blood at CD21. I took a test last night and it was negative so now I am still waiting on AF.

Kim I would take it at night. The only side effect I had was insomnia. Good Luck!!!

Abby, Is your doctor monitoring you for follicles to see how you're doing? A lot of OB/GYNs will give clomid without proper monitoring. You are at risk for developing Ovarian HyperStimulation Syndrome, which can be dangerous to your ovaries. I would talk to her about taking just 50mg again, being monitored, OPKing for ovulation, and then getting the progesterone level drawn 7 days after the positive OPK. The clomid will cause you to O a little later than you normally do because it helps to "grow" and mature the follies. You can do a little research and see that CD21 progesterone levels are not always reliable.

Kim, I took mine at night to avoid some of the unpleasant side effects, but the med will work no matter when you take it.

I start my clomid tomorrow. I asked if it was best to take it in the mornig or at bedtime and the nurse said it does not matter. What are your thoughts on that? This is my first time taking it.

That was my question to her, but she said that if we increase the dosage of clomid that I should be there. I have confidence in this doctor so I guess I am just getting frustrated because I have never dealt with something like this. I have never had a 28 day cycle so I guess in my mind I am thinking that I should O before CD14. I can say for sure that nothing about me is "textbook" LOL I had my son at 26 weeks and then with my daughter they did a cerclage and once they took it out I dilated to a 3 immediately the Dr. told me she would see me later that night and I carried her til the point I needed to be induced.

Abby, it's important that the lab work be done 7DPO as indicated by an OPK. CD21 lab work might not be correct, especially if you did not O on CD14. Also, with clomid, the progesterone should be 15-20. If you're sure you are Oing and your problem is low progesterone, why doesn't she put you on a supplement to be taken starting at O?

Now I am completely confused. I just talked to my doctor and she said my progesterone level was at a 7 on day 21 which they like it to be over 10 to conceive, but at least the indicates that I did ovulate. She told me that clomid can increase the length of your cycle and that I need to go ahead and take a HPT and if it is positive to call her immediately to get progesterone suppositories. If negative wait on my period and she is going to increase the clomid dosage next cycle. Low progesterone is my issue so if 50 mg is working to get me to ovulate why wouldn't she keep me on 50 mg and give me a progesterone supplement. I am not a med person so the lowest dosage possible is fine with me. Sorry this is so long any input is appreciated.

Has anyone experienced a longer cycle once they started clomid? I took clomid cycle days 3-7, went and had blood drawn on cycle day 21. I normally start between cycle day 24-26 and so far I have not one sign of starting and it is cycle day 27. Before I get too anxious I was going to see if anyone has experienced this before. I don't do any charting, temping, OPKs, etc. It is my DH and I anniversary soon and I would love nothing more than to tell him that he is going to be a Daddy. [Wink]

My doctor had to take a couple days off so I haven't got the results of bloodwork just yet. I should hear something today.
