Hi Lisa, the temping will let you know if you O'd. If I remember right its the progesterone that causes the temp increase which is produced by the corpus leutem (spelling). So the LH surge can happen, and if you dont really O then you wont get the temp increase. Did that make sense? I dont know the answer to the rest though. I hope you O or AF comes soon for you so it will be a fresh start like Tanya said.

I think i will pick one up....do you just note it on a calender....actually i don't know anything about temping so i would have to look into it....i know everyone uses fertility friend...not sure what that's all about but i can check into it...if it will help.....Does following temps help you know if you O'd for sure? I know just because you get a LH surge doesn't mean that you O'd...

ryli - The BBT thermometer is pretty cheap at CVS, Walmart, ect.
You do have to temp each dy, but I would occasionally skip weekend, especiall very early or later in my cycle. It is addictive though...you'll find yourself dying to see your temps rising or falling.
It's a great tool. and really helps to confirm the O.

Thanks for the good info Tanya!... I have never temped but maybe i should invest in a...is it called a Basal Body Thermometer?......i have heard that you have to take your temp. at the exact same time every day....I would have to set an alarm for the weekends! That doesn't sound like fun! lol!....I think what you said is about right, it seems like my body is trying to O but i don't know for sure although the OPK is negative this afternoon.....i think it was pos. friday....which would match the cp and cm....ahhh, who knows....i wish for once af would start!

ryli - You can get pg without a period because until your body decides to 1) ovulate or 2) throw in the towel and have an annovulatory cycle there is always a chance that you'll O.
You could be trying to O, but the Clomid threw it all off and now it's still trying to O. Keep watching your cm and if your temping see if you've had a shift. Watching cm alone can be difficult, especially on Clomid because it can be hostile to producing good quality and quantity cm. Many people need Pre-seed or other lubricants because Clomid dries them out.
I would strongly suggest to start temping if your not, because until you see a shift you still have the potential to O. Watch the cm, if you see good ew or watery - bd until it's done.
Good luck - and hopefully you'll get a BFP..or at the least AF will appear so you can start fresh.

Loribeau...first of all thank you so much for shedding some light on this for me!!....Did you have an ultrasound to measure the lining? I have not had any monitoring...but it sounds like this is what could have happened to me too! The funny thing is that for the last few days the OPK has been + and my cervix was high and ewcm....i didn't think it was possible to o without a period but i feel like i am Oing today which could be CD9...
Did you just get af at your usual time the next mth? I'm so curious to know what happened. Did you keep using OPK's even though you didn't get AF? Do you think it's possible to get a bfp the mth after this happened...just trying to see if there is any hope for this month..
Thanks Evie.....we all know how high our hopes get when af is late....it's not easy, that's for sure!

I am hoping that someone has gone through this situation......I took 100mg Clomid days 3-7....I'm not sure if I O'd...there was one day where the line looked as dark as the ctrl line. I usually have a cycle length of 28 days...tomorrow I will be on CD 36 and no sign of AF......I am at a loss of what to do.....If I skip this period, can I still O when I usually would? Or do you have to have AF before you can O again? I have NEVER missed AF, not even once.
I have been searching for answers on the net..some say yes, some say no so i am more confused than ever. I just want to know if i should keep using OPK's?
I have been trying OPK's the last 2 days and they are all pretty close to positive......I don't know what that means at this stage in my cycle.
Can anyone help me out with this? I would really appreciate any ideas you have.
