Adalynn, I had my surgery yesterday so we were in the hotel at the same time. It seems we have a bit in common. I'm a school teacher also and that played a factor when scheduling TR. The only thing I remember Dr. Berger saying there was a lot of damage and that my lenghts (R) 2.75 cm and (L) 2 cm. After that I really didn't listen any more and was very groggy. My husband said the surgery lasted @ 2 hrs. I woke up @ 6 p.m. at the hotel and was depressed about lengths.
I woke up around 5am the morning after surgery and thought what have I done? LOL It hurt so bad. We went for breakfast in the hotel the morning after surgery and I had such a hard time walking and then sitting down in the booth. One of the other ladies that had surgery the same time as me came walking in just fine and she said she felt great. We all tolerate pain and heal in our own way so take your time and don't over do it!
I'm a week out from surgery and still have pain but I can say it is getting better. Yesterday was really rough but today I woke up pretty comfortable. I can tell when I've over done it though because it gets pretty sore again.

Adalynn1 I'm very glad to hear your surgery went well yesterday. Please keep in mind that everyone tolerates pain differently and not everyone will be up and walking the next day after surgery! If the pain pills that were given to you are not helping to control your pain please let the nurse that is coming to your hotel know. We will be more tha happy to try and get you something else that will work better for you. I hope you start to feel better soon! Take care.

Thank you so much. I must be a big baby because I feel like I just had another c-section. Unbelievable. I dread driving home because every little move that I make feels like my incision is opening up. I am a teacher and I'm soooo glad that I chose to do the surgery at the beginning of break. I do not have to go back until Jan. 4th so this should give me plenty of time to get better.
On a better note, I have never felt so relieved about the TR. I feel "normal" again. I feel like, WOW, I can actually get pregnant again. It is the most amazing feeling I have ever had. It just feels so surreal to me. I am not that worried about my tubal lengths now. I know this is going to work. I will be getting married in March to an amazing person that truly loves children. He has one of his own right now, but wants more. We met when I was 13 and he was my first boyfriend. We were so in love with each other back then but I only saw him during the summers on my uncle's farm. One of the summers I went up and he had moved away. Both of us had thought about each other frequently throughout the years, but were unable to find each other. I went through a nasty divorce and so did he. However, one day he found me on Facebook and from that day on we have been together ever since. (Thank goodness for today's technology.) And to think that we may have a child together just blows my mind. Its been an amazing year!!!!!

First off YES...You can can pregnant with those lengths, mine were 3 and 3.5 and I got a BFP less than 6 weeks after TR. Dr M also did my surgery, my BFP ended in etopic on Thanksgiving BUT as soon as I can I will be back in the game!!! Also..I was in alot of pain after TR as well, the day of surgery I was fine it wasnt until the next day and the following week. I had TR on Thursday and thought I was coming back to work the Monday, LOL..... that didnt happen!!! Do you have alittle pillow with you? That was my lifesaver. I do remember them saying if the vicodan doesnt work they could get me something else so deff. ask the nurses this morning when they come in. Just know that after today and tomorrow the pain will begin getting better everyday and NOW YOUR ON THE OTHER SIDE!!!!!! Congrats to you and if you need to talk we are all here!!! Tammye

Thank you. This is what my fiance keeps telling me. Right now I am sitting in my bed and I am in terrible pain. I don't understand why. After reading so many posts on here, it seems that the majority of women had little to no pain. I feel like I just had another csection. I am taking the medications as stated, but the vicodan does not seem to be helping at all. Can they prescribe something different? Also they only gave me one antinausea pill, which I get extremely nauseous taking pain pills. The nurse is coming this morning, so I will ask her then.

Adalynn, welcome to the "other" side;) Dr. M is wonderful as well as the entire staff at CH. Take time to rest and follow the instructions and you will be feeling better in no time:) Many woman have had bfp with tube lengths even smaller than yours...or, even with just one tube left...... at least now, you have a chance that you did not have yesterday:)

Surgery went well today. Dr. Monteith said that tubal lengths were 3.5cm (left) and 5cm (right). He said that the left tube had a lot of scar tissue, but he was able to repair it. I am concerned about conceiving with these lengths and the scarring I had on the left tube. I conceived the very first time with my previous pregnancies, so I am praying that my excellent fertility will help with conceiving now. Only time will tell. I had an excellent day today. Was REALLY out of it after surgery, cried because I had no idea where I was at. But everyone was extremely professional and caring. What a wonderful experience. Thank you all, it was truly beyond my expectations.
