I think I am going to go in on Friday or Monday for another draw since my levels are so low. It will give me a piece of mind at least. Wednesday is a long time to sit at home and wonder what is going on. I do not like surprises, so if this preg. is not progressing like it should, I want to know as soon as possible.

i had my 2nd draw on a thurs and he told me to come back on tues or wed. but i went on monday because i have no patients at all. but then when i went, he did a U/S but the tech said if i would of waited a few more days then she would of been able to see the baby. so maybe there is a reason behind it? but i just felt so much better knowing my #s were up. if you dont think you will be at 1500 next wed. so you can get a ultrasound then i would go earlier. you know you dont need an appt i just always go in early in the morn and they send me straight back to the lab.

patti,
Do you think he'll give you a standing order to get your draws at the hospital? That's what my dr. did. He wrote to draw every 48 hrs. They sent the results to him and his nurse would call and review them with me. I already knew them though because I'd sit at the hospital an hr and get the results myself every time; they'd order them stat if you tell them your gonna wait for them. It pays to be persistant and there is a reason for going during the recommended time frame. You can measure your doubling rate. My 1st dr. was like yours and said it was a waste of time for me to come that often because they wouldn't be able to see anything on an u/s. I insisted and went anyway. I had to check my own numbers and realized myself, and call to ask Dr. B since my 1st dr. didn't believe me. It was an e/p. Please be careful and insist they follow the protocal.

Did you go every two days for your draws? He told me not to come back until wednesday of next week? I think I should still go Friday and Monday since my levels are low. What do you think?

im glad your numbers are going up patti. my #s were a little slow between 1st and 2nd draw but when i went back for the 3rd they had went up 4xs (i was scared it was twins) so maybe you just have slow rising numbers. good luck

You might want to remind him, or let him review the protocal. You're suppose to have draws every 48-56 hrs.

Here are my hcg draws

7/23 23 at Lab corp
7/26 31 at dr's office
7/28 50 at dr's office almost 48 hours apart

I saw on the internet that your levels should go up 66% at 48 hours and double in 72 hours. Mine are right at 66%. I am not going by the lap corp results because it came from a different lab. My doctor wants me to have another draw in one week (wednesday of next week). I am 4 weeks 4 days pregnant. I am taken one day at a time.

I too live in NC and my OB gave me two names to call about TR and Dr.Berger was one of them. Like you I just started calling to see how kind the person on the other end was. I am glad you have a great doctor. Miranda

It is so great to find someone one that lives and goes to the same doctor. I have also been going to him for 15 years. I have 4 children and he delivered my last one. The other doctors that work with him were on call then I was in labor with the other 3. I just toke another hpt to see if it is still positive and it was and the line was darker. I am crossing my fingers.

Dr. monteith, i sent you the info

patti, this is my 3rd pregnancy after my TR in april 2007, and i have been going to dr.michalak for almost 20 years so i know sometimes he is extra cautious about not getting your hopes up too early. which is good because my 1st one ended in a M/C and he had prepared me for that. but he also treated the last 2 the same way just in case because my #s always started low because it was so early. this time at 10 dpo it was 31, and with my daughter it was about the time and #s. good luck on wed. let me know how it goes.

I had my TR on 4/21/2010. My first hcg draw was 23 at Lab Corp in Smithfield. They faxed the results to Dr. Michalak. My second hcg draw was 31 at their lab in the office. I go Wednesday for my next lab. I am hoping the numbers are not doubling because they are two different labs. I will know more wednesday. He thinks it might result in a miscarriage with numbers so low. I am only 4 weeks 3 days pregnant. So it is very early. Only three days past my scheduled period.

Who is your doctor? My doc is in Wilson. I just got my BFP but my hcg levels are low so it might be a start of a MC. My doc. is Dr. Michalik at Wilson OB/GYN.
