Hi! I feel bad jumping into the middle of this thread but I just had to comment. I am also new to this site and am hoping to schedule my appt. soon. After my CS/TL 6.5 years ago I noticed a lot of the symptoms that have been discussed below. I especially have cramps on my left side throughout the month and especially around the time of ovulation. I asked the Dr. and they said that it was because I was getting older (I'm 28 now [Smile] ) Maybe my TR will help with this. Thanks for letting me chime in, I love this forum and feel lucky I have found all of you.

hi and welcome. let me tell you you are not alone. isn't it amazing hearing all the similar stories about the complications after a tl that the doctors never tell you about. i bet 99.9 percent of us would never have had the surgery had we known. thank god there is a place that can help and actually understands the pain and suffering. i am also hoping for a tr very soon. not only to have another child, but also to feel whole and normal again. it is really awesome that we can come to this site and be so supported and also be so supportive of others. you all are so wonderful. it's like having a huge family that you've never met. good luck

Oh thank you all so much!!!! I am new here, and have been contemplating this for a long time. I had my TL 8 yrs ago. I have 2 sons 12 months apart! And I jumped into the TL. I was 23 and totally overwhelmed. No one told me about any side effects. I just thought "I was getting old!", I never had acne before, now i have cysts, gained a lot of weight, so moody and incredibly depressed, and everything hurts. Each month I get even worse, it is like a huge slap in the face, "Ha Ha you cant have a baby!!" I feel like the only one who feels like this. But then I feel guilty, like I am not grateful for the 2 wonderful and beautiful boys I have, shouldn't I be grateful for that? So many conflicting feelings! I just dont know what to feel anymore

I too went through so many changes. It's so good to read all of your posts. I had a TL 7 years ago after my son was born and now that I am newly married again, there is nothing we want more than to have another baby.

We suffered greatly last year with the loss of my father and then the loss of our great city, New Orleans to hurricane Katrina. We are ready now to see the positive, the recreation.

We are not desperate enough to try invitro. We are truly thankful for the kids we have, but if it can happen naturally, only by my having a TR we would be incredibly thankful. I know that things that are meant to happen, will. So with that in mind I have done my research and we're ready to move forward. Wish us luck as I wish to all of you!

Just thought I'd throw my two cents worth in--
I had a TL 9 years ago and have suffered all kinds of hormonal changes since the TL-weight gain, terrible mood swings, changes in my skin and hair texture, -you name it, I had it.

I began looking into a TR mainly because of wanting to have another child, but the 'chatter' I heard on this board was the first time anyone had ever talked about some of these symptoms and that there was a possibility for some of these symptoms to improve with a TR....

WELL, I had a TR done on 12-23-05 (just last week) and already I am seeing some changes take place... I woke up yesterday morning with oily skin (this hasn't happened in NINE years), my hair is beginning to curl again (it had been naturally curly, went straight after TL) and today DH and I were intimate and he even commented on the amount of 'moisture' that was present (sorry for TMI!).

Don't know what there is to it all--but something's happening in my body--and I am thrilled to be inching back toward the 'old me'!!! Thank God for CH!!

Hi sunshine-
Just had my TR 11-8-05. I too had horrible AF's after my TL. I have had 2 AF's since the TR and the best thing I noticed was no PMS!!!! I loved it. I still got some cramping and I'm still bleeding heavy & clots however not like before I had the TR. Hope this helps.
