Hi ladies I am 44 now I was 43 when I had my TR done and I will never regreted. I had 3 pregnancies after TR, they ended in m/c, due to incompetence cervix. Good luck with your decision to have the TR, the good of all this is that you can try every month, For some will take longer than others, but that is small price to pay for hope and a little bundle of joy.

Hi Lysa, We have many women over the age of 40 come for TR. Out of 506 women over the age of 40, 207 have become pregnant. You may also find the following website helpful concerning PTLS. Lori RN
I am 42 and scheduled for my TR this morning. It never too late unless you are told its too late. You need to begin with having what is called FSH, estradiol, and LH testing done. You need those test performed on the 3rd day of your period. Those test will tell you if you should go to the next level. You want to see the FSH results less than 10. The less the better. LH need to be less than you FSH number and estradiol needs to be less than 89. That is the first step. These are all blood test. YOu obgyn can do them for you. these test tell you if you are close to menopause etc...read up on the internet about the test. You'll learn alot. Just google them. Any, you can post on the age and tubal reversal and on that thread all all women over 40. You'll gets lots of encouragement. I'm off to do my tubal reversal in about 30 mintues

Hi Lysa, well PTLS is Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome.and yes,we have all experienced some or all of the symptoms! I had my TL and it was the worst decision I ever made! I had such terrible periods and bleeding, heart palpatations and so many other "strange" things. So I pray that you will be able to get a TR and have that baby boy u want!there is a website, you can pretty much type in PTLS and it will bring up a lot of sites about it.Do your research on it and you will see that you are definately not alone.I Had my TR 4/20/2007 and immediately ,I was relieved of all the PTLS symptoms, but still have some palpatations .I also believe that getting pregnant after the TR depends on your body and tubes and how well the surgery goes. So be encouraged and hopefully, you will get one soon!! God Bless , Leslie

Is it possible to have a TR @ 40 to 42 years of age? At times I feel like I want another baby especially a baby boy. I have three girls. I thought that would be enough, but for some reason I have these feeling of just wanting another child. I would like to one day maybe have a son. I often wonder if that would ever be possible. When I had my TL I woke up the next day feeling sad and depressed, I cried for weeks and still do. I should have been happy I had a brand new baby girl. Of course, I was happy for that, but deep inside I regreted my decision to have a TL. I also experience bad periods and leg cramps. I read somewhere where someone had this after their TL at it was called PTLS, but I never found out what exactly that is. Does anyone know? Now I come to find out that I'm not the only woman experiencing these feeling. Can anyone give me some information. Lysa.
