We just made our appointment today with Dr. Berger. May 20th I'm going in to have my TR. I've been floating on air all day long! My husband and I are praying that 7 years of depression, mood swings, irregular periods, etc. will come to an end with the TR. Off course we are also praying for another baby! lol

MOMZILLA,
YOu madee me cry.. EVERYTHING you are going through is like a mirror of what I'm going through. I don't feel like I'm going crazy any more. There is going to be hope at the end of the tunnel. There has to be. There are too many of us going through this. I think this forum is a great place to start. I wish you the best of luck and I'm here for anyone who wants to talk.

Thank you for the link to the abbreviations.

Michelle that's when I scheduled. A 14 day long period was my breaking point.
I have to say I'm much better know it's been 6 months since TR for me.

It looks like we share the same boat guys. I have been a different person since my TL on 05 (after the birth of my 3rd child.). I thought I was going mental..My doctor told me I was tired b/c I have 3 kids and a high stress FT job and that it was normal not to be interested in sex. Well, 3 years later I am not only not interested but I loathe the thought of it. The weight gain, headaches, freaky heavy period flooding followed by no blood and then bleeding again, confusion, foggy head, acne, tingling in my extremities, radical PMS, need to be away from everyone..and so on and so on. My hopes are high that my 6/1 TR will fix me going forward and rid my of this horrible PTLS. I am so careful with anything medical and did ask about potential side effects prior to having the TL, but apparently since the medial community fails to embrace the possibility of PTLS, my doctor had no info to share before I did it. It was the worst mistake ever and I tell everyone to think long and hard before they do it. If anyone has tips or knows where I can get medical info that I can supply to my insurance company to help them consider paying all or part of the TR...please let me know. Hang in there everyone..hopefully there is a light at the end of this tunnel.

Hi there. This is my first time on this board also, and I don't understand the lingo yet either. I know TR and PTLS but that's about it. My husband and I are hoping to make our appointment for my TR this week. Our prayer is that we will be able to have more children, however, we are also hoping the surgery will help with the depression I've had since having my tubes tied in 2000.

I pray that it goes that way for me too.
Ok now I don't know all the code words yet.. lol..

I know TL,TR,TLPS, V and VR. But that's about it.
If someone could give me a list of the codes that would be great.

I do have a question.. How come my periods now are heavy for 3 days then stop for 2 days then start up again? When they start up again they aren't heavy but they last for 3 to 4 more days sometimes longer..

Thank you guys again.
Always,
Michelle

Michelle I just wanted to tell you things do get better after the TR. I had my TR on 3-24-08 and right now I am on CD 2 of my first AF after the surgery. It is great. I am not hurting like before, I can still wear my every day clothes. It does get better. I wish you all the best.

Robin,
I just got my period yesterday and I'm bleeding so bad I dont even want to stand up. I understand what you mean about not wantitng to be around any one. I bite everyone's head off for no reason. I hate feeling like this. I refuse to go on anything because all it's doing is masking the problem. I need to find a Dr. here that will help me. My OBGYN back home said I need to have a TR. I'm very close with him and he told me from day one I should have never had the TL.

I'm so glad I'm not the only woman out there that is going through this. I have felt completely out of control since my TL. You know your body and I know that there is something wrong, and it's not in my head. This pain has to stop. Now I can see if I went through this from the day i got my period when I was 14 but it hasn't. I never even knew that my period was coming. No pain what so ever. And now all I want to do is put on comfy clothes and lay on the couch. Which is next to impossible with 3 young kids. Thank god I have a wonderful man who helps out with everything.

I'm also glad I found this forum. It's one thing to have a man who understands but it's completely different when you have woman that are going through the same thing as you.

My best wishes are with you.

Always,
Michelle

Michelle,

I live about 3 hours from you. I am from West Virginia. I also received periods that are not welcomed since having my tl. My periods before would be 3 -4 days, no cramping. Now, last month my period lasted 13 days and I had to lay on the couch for 2 days because I was hurting so bad. I have headaches also and it's to the point that I just want to sleep. Mood swings are not even what I call them. There's 2 days a month that I can't stand to be around anybody including myself. I have to go off at work and try to be by myself as much as possible because everything makes me mad. The Dr prescribed xanax and lexapro but I don't want to take medication for that. I have not have not had the tr but I am getting very close to signing up. You're lucky your insurance will cover, mine won't. Best of luck to you.

Thank you both.. I was told that if a Dr says I need this for my health that my insurance will cover it. I always knew something was wrong after my TL. And by doing research I found out what is wrong. Now I also have read that a lot of Dr's don't believe in PTLS. I know my body and something isn't right.

I'm divorced with 3 kids and like I said I got my TL when right after my last son as born. I didn't want any more kids with my ex. I met the man of my dreams in Dec of 05. He also got "fixed" after his daughter was born. Now together we have 5 kids and that's a big family. It would be great if we could have one of our own but it's more important I get this problem I have fixed.

I live in the Winchester area. So if you know of any one that would be great. Thank you again

Always,
Michelle
