Unfortunately, my original DOC had relocated to SC just before I was scheduled to have my TR done, so I didn't have the chance to talk to her about it.
I preceded to go on & have my TR due to a few reasons. Soon, after, I found a new DOC with whom I discussed in much detail my medical history etc.
She was on board from the jump. She was simply surprised & amazed at the info I had given her regarding the TR & it's outcome.
Once she knew that I wanted another little one, she became my MOM instead of my DOC....Which was a good thing.
She was oh so supportive in many ways. After I told her how far I've traveled, she was like he must be good, I replied "THE BEST". Here I am 15wks 2days & counting.
Now she calls my baby her baby.....I tell ya, it's a story to tell, but I'll end it here, surely you get the point....lol
She now tells other patients about Dr. Berger if they are considering such a thing due to my successful outcome !!!
THANKS DR. BERGER !!!!!
Only problem I had was her wanting to wait to schedule my US...But I ended up getting it done as soon as my numbers hit 1500 which was on the 4th draw...

My ob/gyn was supportive, excited about my decision. but when I got pg, I had a hard time getting her to follow protocol, to do any testing m/c after m/c. But now I have an awesome Dr. she has delivered some of Dr. B's babies and is very familiar with him. She handled my last two pg's with kid gloves (I m/c'd) one but am currently 14 weeks pg and due in Nov.
Of course in researching TR I started locally first and paid several "consultation fees" only to be pushed to ivf. At the time I was 35 and was told I was too old and not to waste my time with TR, that I would soon need donor eggs for ivf. Here I am 38 with my own egg successfully pg from my tr with no fertility meds just natural ttc and prog. as soon as I got a positive pg test. I would not have gone any other route and I am glad I didn't let those dr.s convince me that ivf was my only option.
I found CH website on my own and knew that was where I was going.

My gyn said no one would even do a tr here (St Louis)...and that success was less than 20%. "They didn't do them because they just don't work!" lol:)
I had both good and bad experiences with doctors regarding my having a Tubal Reversal.
I first learned of TR as an option from my OB/GYN. He was a wonderful doctor who readily displayed all of my options for conception after TL.
Unfortunately, I moved out of state just before getting my TR surgery. I had to find a new OB/GYN. The first doctor I saw was not only unsupportive, she was condescending and rude to me about my having had the surgery and having a good chance of pregnancy. She even went so far as to question the numbers that came from Dr. Berger's pregnancy stats, saying it sounded inflated. Needless to say, I changed doctors.
The new doctor was much more positive and has been very intent in helping us identify necessary fertility treatments that would facilitate pregnancy.
I'm glad I had other opinions aside from the negative doctor that I first went do after my TR! I am now expecting, with our little one due in November '08!
The difference that the TR surgery has made in our lives is immeasurable. Hopefully, education will help other medical providers to see this as both a viable and preferrable option for restoring fertility.

I read your post. I feel I am one of the lucky ladies on here. My OB/GYN that did my TL was ok with me getting a TR. He even pointed me to CHTRC. I am also blessed to have a great family doctor. He did all my per-op work for my TR. He has been behind me all the way. I am the first one that has asked him to help with getting a TR. After pointing him to Dr.B site he has stated he would like to start working with others that would like a TR so he could help with paying for it because of my journey to get the money needed. It would be easier on the others if their doctors were behind them getting a TR and on board with following the path after one of us gets a BFP. Thank you for your post. Miranda TR-3-24-08
